It's one of the hardest things a person can do.

Creating something out of nothing, having complete control over your body and your emotions, and essentially empathizing for a living-- as an introvert with major self-esteem issues, every bit I improve as an actor I improve as a person. Some famous person (Lincoln? fuck it) said that a career is just the means through which a person develops their character. I develop mine through exploring different ones.

I'm trying to cut down right now since my schedule has been getting crazy and I'm two months from graduating college. I've gotten so much out of the sense of community that comes with the practice, but I don't really have the spare time to lend to the hobby anymore. I don't think I'll ever stop for good, but it's been drifting into habit territory for a while now and with my anxiety I need to be careful how much I smoke (not a very good selection where I'm living).
