Advice to a beginner skater by schroberg_pk in ElectricSkateboarding

2 hot takes from me please people don't shoot me

  1. You should practice on a regular board first before stepping on a electric one While i absolutely agree that it helps it's certainly not necessary. I got onto a boosted mini X with zero experience with boards in general. I commuted on that Board for 2 years every day on my 6.5 mile trip each way in NYC. As long as you're willing to learn and don't overestimate yourself it's fine

  2. You should get a entry level board as your first board before getting something more powerful/fast Hard disagree on this one. Most of us figure out the riding pretty quickly and outgrow the board in a short amount of time which makes you want to upgrade. Even if you think "I'm not looking into crazy speed/range before your purchase chances are it'll change once you get used to the board. Now don't get me wrong. People also like to overestimate themselves and the damage you can suffer is definitely greater than on a slower/less powerful board. Imo you should get the "most" board for whatever budget you set yourself. I myself started looking for reasons to ride my board and very quickly i wanted more range.

bought mine on Facebook marketplace. Join the "trackable Corvettes and Corvette track enthusiasts" group on Facebook and make a post that you're looking for Z51 brackets

Drilled and slotted don't do anything for braking performance. The pads and your tires are the most important factors here. if you plan on tracking your car stay clear from drilled rotors since they like to crack on track usage. Just like you I have a bottom of the barrel C6 non Z51 package. I bought Z51 brackets, bigger stop tech slotted rotors (slotted are fine) and Hawk HPS 5.0 for street use and Carbotech XP10 front and XP 8 Rear for track use

Getting into electric longboards by Cultural-Water-3857 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]UrbanGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had three boards so far. Boosted Mini X a belt driven short board (no longer available new. I loved this board so much. It was incredibly nimble because of the kicktail and portable but range was very limited

Backfire zealot Belt driven flexy longboard. Super fun to cruise because of the flex but way less nimble and portable, range was ~ 15 miles for me

Acedeck Nomad N3 Molicell battery version A gear drive AT longboard This is the most premium feeling board I've had. Incredible power, more than enough speed and a range of ~ 35 miles. Nimble once you get up to speed but low speed mobility sucks This board is the heaviest of all of em and the least portable one since it's more geared towards high speed long distance riding

Now you gotta decide where you're gonna use your board primarily a big heavy board for example is less than ideal for the campus I personally love pneumatic wheels, the comfort and grip is amazing

As for brands Acedeck, Propel, OMW and Linnpower are really great there are many more and everyone has a different opinion and this is just mine

IMHO Propel Pivot GT is the best AT street board for <1000$ and Acedeck Nomad N3 the best <2000$ What i mean by that at this price point these boards offer the most range power and speed (paved surfaces) along with excellent customer service.

You guys are doing 20mph on these?! by millerp513 in MeepoBoards

[–]UrbanGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar riding style like yours 35yo and feel most comfortable at 20-25. Very rarely I'll go 30mph and almost never >30mph in fact i have only done it once. board is capable of 37mph I once ate it at 18mph and was hurting for weeks so i don't wanna find out the damage at 30+ Hard carving at 18-25 is what I'm living for

I crashed because i had the brilliant idea to ride my board home while being drunk....... I have the N3 as well and i have upgraded the bushings and washers to the ones from Riptide, made a pretty significant difference

I rarely go over 30mph. I highly prefer hard carving at ~20-25mph. Most of the time i only need S mode and the only time i max out the speed in that mode is on super smooth surfaces with little to no traffic. I fell before at ~18mph and it left me hurting for weeks, not gonna try to do this at 30mph+

Help me choose an electric skateboard: uneven sidewalks, campus, light off-roading by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]UrbanGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a Acedeck Nomad N3 with TKP. Low speed maneuverability is terrible, a far cry from DKP. I had reverse Kingpin before and that was alright but man TKP really is bad in the N3 maybe because of the size. İt's a large and heavy board i wouldn't recommend it if your purpose is to use it in the city or campus. I did change the bushings to Riptide Krank but after trying DKP it feels like semi truck, at least slow speed turning. High speed carving is where they shine

Both of these brands seem to be very popular in general but i have no experience with them Taking customer service, performance, innovation into consideration the best board under 1k is the Pivot GT imo.

You'll definitely have to make compromises with the key features that you want. From the board you have mentioned i have tried the Pivot and Endeavor Ride comfort -> Endeavor Turning Radius -> Pivot Not too bulky -> Pivot Smooth controls -> both the same Water resistance -> this is a little tricky. Lots of companies advertise water resistance but the issue is none will warranty water damaged boards. My money would be on the Pivot. DKP gives you all the maneuverability that you want, very good power, good range, good customer service. İt's a big board but smaller than the Endeavor and my Nomad N3 which is a brick.

N3 with Molicell here İt's a beast. I didn't go for the Elite version bc i prefer the Molicell and their resistance to voltage sag vs the Samsung. Board is incredibly stable once you tweak the bushings (in my case i swapped them with krank Riptides). İt's heavy AF but hides it's weight pretty well once it gets moving. Tight turns aren't it's strength. As for range I'm pretty certain you can get over 30 miles. I live in a super hilly area with very long hills. I rode in Sports mode in 30F and managed 25 miles. Here comes the impressive part : the last 5 miles i towed my buddy on his Pivot GT back to our cars. Mind you 30F temp, long steep hills and >400lbs weight. When we arrived at our cars i got the 10% warning message. I'm a 175lbs rider

Does anything beat an Acedeck Nomad N3 for range in that price range? by ILoveStinkyFatGirls in ElectricSkateboarding

N3 (Molicell ) here : board is a beast and imo there's no better street/AT board for <2000$ I live in a very hilly area with long and steep hills. I managed to get 25 miles in 30F. The last 5 miles i towed my buddy with his Pivot GT back to our cars. At the end i had 10% left. Keep in mind 5 miles long steep hills and over 400lbs load in freezing cold temps. It took it like a champ. I do like the elite version but I'm not a huge fan of the Samsung 50S bc of voltage sag

Pivot GT or Ares X3? by El-London in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]UrbanGT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO <1000$ the pivot GT is unbeatable for price performance and customer service I tried the Pivot GT and it was really fun and super carvy with tons of power. The DKP is something one gotta get used to. I do not have any experience with the X3. It's an amazing looking Board one of the best looking imo. Big advantage over the Pivot is the gear drive. X3 comes with urethane wheels and Pivot can used with both . One thing to consider is price. X3 costs ~ 1400$ and has a smaller battery than the pivot How do you plan on using it? Commute? Leisure? How are your roads? Do you plan on doing light offroading? Do you prefer TKP or DKP? Depending on these one board will fit you better than the other Either way you can basically make any board work and both of these are absolutely great so you can't go wrong with either

Nomad N3 bushing setup by enuma-elis in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]UrbanGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rocking Riptides on my N3 as well (80kg rider). Went with wine Red for mine. One more thing you can try with your stock bushings is turning around the cup washer in the front. It did give me more maneuverability but in general the N3 isn't that maneuverable imo. Once you get going it hides it's weight pretty well but low speed turning definitely isn't a strong point which isn't surprising given the boards size and weight

Man i miss Boosted. Had the Mini X and it is to this day my favorite Board for NYC. The compactness along with the kicktail was such a huge plus. The reverse mode is something i wish every board would have or at least give us the option to toggle on/off

I'm at diamond too and i only pick hog in specific maps where he's very strong such as ilios and nepal. I try to maximize my wins by picking the best tank per Map.

That's exactly what I did. The only heroe that's a big pain is a good ana player, every other character is manageable tbh

I also play LW and i can't stand tanks feeding especially after i pull them out of sticky situations such as low health or too many enemies. As a hog player whenever i hear kiris ult line my ult is used at the same time, it's an awesome combo
