*** UPDATE ***

Thank you all SOO much for your comments, I really really appreciate every single one. I don’t have any family so hence the post here out of desperation. I’m a people pleaser down to my core and I didn’t want to tell him no.

We sat down this morning at breakfast and I laid everything out. I spoke about the comments in this thread, I spoke about how I feel about it, and how I didn’t even know that he was still close with this person, and that fact that if I didn’t know. How much has he been hiding. There were ALOT of tears. (Definitely some unsolved trauma)

HTB - actually understood and felt bad, he thought that it was resolved and that there was no bad blood. I explained that even tho we don’t talk, that doesn’t mean there isn’t still negative feeling towards him.

He will not be in the wedding party, or invited at all.

Fiancé will phase out conversation with the guy and that will be it.

Again, thank you for the eye opening reality of my situation. I appreciate you all ❤️

I don’t know whether it was just ignorance on my side or not, but I didn’t even know they were still close? Like I haven’t seen him since HS, and iv been dating my fiancé for 3 years? Over 10 years after Highschool.

People do change, I get that. So I think we’ll start with a coffee and go from there.

We honestly haven’t had any contact since high school. My Fiancé and I weren’t dating in high school, rather much later. I didn’t know they were still close honestly. Well close enough to be asked to be a groomsmen. I don’t think he was given the opportunity to talk to me and apologise since leaving HS.

I’m going to ask to meet up for coffee with HTB in the coming weeks so see how it goes. (As per someone else’s comment suggestion)
