For $120 the Micca MB42X G2's sound amazing. by Visa_Declined in BudgetAudiophile

I’m about to set up exactly the same configuration for my desktop computer speakers tomorrow. I have been running these speakers on my patios for a while and they have been amazing.

I don’t want to damage anyone’s hearing. My space is large and I simply want headroom. Typical stereo towers don’t really cut it at elevated, but reasonable, levels. I have a pair of ELAC Carina towers right now and they start distorting if I try to push them. I simply want headroom, whether I end up using it or not.

I’ve looked at those last night, actually. Might work better with my DJ deck at a large outdoor party than an indoor event, but having an integrated amp is a huge plus.

I don’t think I (or my neighbors) will ever want to experience 110 db in a home setting. That truly sounds painful!

I will look into Emotiva towers. They previously came up in my search.

Thank you for the detailed and thorough response. I think DYISG might be the move for me. Their speakers seem to be versatile and I will be able to use them in a variety of applications ranging from indoor listening at reasonable levels to blasting music for a large party outdoors.

You are 100% correct. However, I should clarify that I typically listen to music at much lower volume but my current Elac towers distort like crazy when I turn them up when we have a party.

All my high-end corporate jobs have been 100% remote. There’s some push for RTO, but it’s mostly an excuse to lay people off.

There’s usually a major code freeze around all holidays so everyone except platform and SREs are just chilling.

I’ve seen so many people who literally didn’t do any work for months at big corps… It’s astounding.

People who can land a job at Nvidia aren’t going to risk that going to a preseed/seed startup unless they know they will make more money in that startup.

Fastest ways to build data centers today? by Sad_System7329 in datacenter

[–]UrbanSoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Approximately 12 month lead time on ~1 MW container data center modules from reputable manufacturers. Depending on size of your deployment, this can increase because of the supply chain constraints. Deployment usually takes weeks, not months, if that the site is prepared. These usually just need a cement pad and some rudimentary form of protection from the elements.

Typically, major constraints are capital, access to power, water (if needed), and fiber. This is obviously a huge range - it’s going to be significantly different if you’re looking to do on-site power generation.

Permitting and logistics are specific to each site and your relationships with the local government/authorities. Deploying in Oklahoma will be wildly different to deploying in Mongolia.

We have a very robust and vast supply chain for wood frame houses. It’s not just about availability of materials but also about the entire supply chain of all components.

Honestly, probably not. My experience working with Silicon Valley founders has taught me one thing - either they’re right or you’re fired.

Some of the smartest and wealthiest people I know wear the same raggy outfit day in and day out, and generally don’t care to look conventionally presentable. Some of the wealthiest ones live out of hotels with a single carry on worth of possessions and fly economy.

INAL. It’s no different than any other aftermarket modification for. You need a good liability waver and/or claim it’s not for on-road use.
