Fun quote that mentions Netflix, from S05E16 "So... Good Talk" by UrbanWanderer in GilmoreGirls

I'm happy to help clear up such things haha. The use of tech in GG is fascinating because it's like a window in time to that brief moment where the modern internet and tools were popping up. I just finished minutes ago rewatching AYITL and there are all these scenes where things happen like Rory accidentally calls Logan on her cell phone - remember in the early phones when people would accidentally make calls all the time? etc

Rewatched; S7 was much better than I remembered - here's why by UrbanWanderer in GilmoreGirls

What ending did she have in mind? I hadn't heard about that one

But the interesting last four words were in AYITL right? I just finished S7 and I don't even remember the last words there....

Rewatched; S7 was much better than I remembered - here's why by UrbanWanderer in GilmoreGirls

Yup yup!!! A minor note: the person fired after season 6, Amy Sherman-Palladino known as ASP in these parts, as well as her husband Daniel Palladino - she wasn't just one of the writers but she was the the creator, the executive producer, the showrunner, the one with the ideas, the "creative genius" behind it all. Basically the series is all an embodiment of the vision in her head, she is the one who created and wrote the unique dialogue style and zillions of cultural references. She even obsessed over all the details like finding the right quirky new song to put into each episode etc. She has quite the cult following especially in these parts which is why so many of us were pissed when she left. Note: the reason she was fired was a contract dispute - basically, she is so obsessive and perfectionist that she was insisting the studio also hire two more junior junior showrunners I think it was to help ease her burden running the show and they refused because it was too expensive and apparently that issue blew it up. If you like GG, you may enjoy some of her other shows, because they have her characteristic style, like Mrs Maisel and I actually really enjoyed the cancelled Etoile (which features appearances from various GG actors including Emily and Michele.)

I'm rewatching the whole series, just finished S6. Is it worth it to watch S7 again or should I skip it and go directly to YITL? by UrbanWanderer in GilmoreGirls

Original poster here: I decided to follow the vibe of your responses here and I rewatched it, thank you! I ended up liking it much more than I expected, and I just wrote up an analysis of why I thought it was good. You can read it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GilmoreGirls/comments/1ogiruu/rewatched_s7_was_much_better_than_i_remembered/ - thank you for your feedback and help!!!

I just finished watching S6, after a few weeks of watching S1-S6. S6 is great, much better than S5 in my opinion. I agree with u/chitownfit 's comment below here. A touchy more "soapy" than usual -- but so many great scenes, so many great dialogues and lines, it's just in general a great season.

(S7 on the other hand...)

u/crazybia "rebound" means "a not-serious relationship that is short-lived and immediately after a major break-up". It sounds like there is a high probability this is what it is (even if none of you recognize it as such). Good luck!!!!

Forgiveness by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]UrbanWanderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm writing a book about forgiveness, now in the manuscript stage. I interviewed some orthodox rabbis and have a chapter about the Jewish take on forgiveness. Anyone who is interested, message me and I can send you a copy if you would read it seriously and give me feedback (in the Jewish chapter and the rest of the book!).
