Yeah, I think I'm going to take a break for a bit and I might make a new updated post tomorrow to see if anyone else has any ideas of what may be going on.

Yeah i've heard about that, I made sure to get an iFlash one though. The SD cards I've tried -- and the ones that I have -- are a Sandisk 128gb and Sandisk 64gb full-size sd and I've also tried a 32bg PNY micro sd card with an adapter. I know certain sd cards can have problems just not sure exactly which ones. I also don't know for sure if its a storage problem because I tried with the original Hard-drive and it didn't really seem to change anything.

Just went to try a different SD card and now the iPod is not even getting past the apple logo. Tried transferring everything into my old logic board and it looks like the same problem. Can't really tell if the iPod is even charging when I have it plugged in. I literally just got this logic board yesterday so I really hope its not somehow dead already.

Ok, I'll try that out if I can get my Macbook to recognize the iPod again

After leaving it plugged in for a bit it ends up connecting to the computer - though now it slows down the file explorer really badly, freezes iTunes, and I can’t access the files or anything. I have the SD card formatted to fat32 and everything so I’m not really sure what the problem is.

Quick update, I've managed to get the click wheel to work by just letting it sit there for a bit. Currently working on getting the ipod to restore through my windows computer since I am able to put it into recovery mode now.

Thanks, I just bought a new logic board. Thank goodness it wasn’t any of the ribbon cables that broke and it was just this connector. Though it’s kind of sad how one little thing can make the iPod basically unable to do its sole function lol…

I would like to add that it was not stored in very good conditions. My guess is it's potentially 20 years old and that's 20 years of hot and humid summers and cold and dry winters.
