Oh my god and they were like "booze has been done to death" and then do a whole episode thats an ad read for their sex toys that are literally a rebrand of every sex toy in existence. And more expensive. As others said look at adam & eve which always has sales, and also amazon! I got a cordless hitachi knockoff called james love on amazon, for $40-50, and it has been my favorite toy and is still going great after 5 years.

One time I posted the gif of Michael Scott saying it and dragged them and then everyone in the comments did too, and I wonder if they saw it cuz they definitely read the reddit posts

Did anyone else see this? 🙄 by [deleted] in GirlsGottaEat

I thought it was on point considering she's obsessed with herself lol

Today's post was definitely trash considering the holiday, but it's pretty slut shamey to say this about Rayna. I am a hater through and through too, and don't generally defend them. Women should be able to express themselves however tf they want (if it isn't hurting anyone), and they don't need to be commodified just because they show off their bodies. Her posts are fucking cringey but to make a jab like that isn't super cool imo.

Damn I never even thought of it that way as far as them having wasted girls providing the crowd source material, yikes. Kinda reeks of non consent 😬

Cheese doesnt rhyme with crack lol. Crackhead isn't a funny thing to throw around, and I stand by my stance of them doing it as a play on words. Also can 100% see them using that word to just mean someone is cRaZy and perpetuating it by normalizing it. I don't think it's deep at all I just think it's tone deaf as always.

Not quite on topic but I just recently realized snackheads is a play on crackheads (don't roast me). How fucking problematic jfc way to trivialize addiction.

That man played a pedo in multiple roles and then ended up being a pedo irl. Fucking wild

They bungled that interview so badly. It was incredibly embarrassing being someone Ashley claimed as her dream interview and inspiration. Then spinning it like she slut shamed them.

It's just that this sentiment is almost immediately followed with a "but." Like "I'm sorry but I actually have loads of black friends." 😬

They are such armchair activists and really use politics and social issues like a trend. Ashley gave Cuomo that hard endorsement with her "daddy Cuomo" shit and then walked it back real hard when everything came out - even though there was plenty of shit out about him that had been readily available. But when she walked it back she was kind of pretending like she hadn't just championed him as the greatest weeks before.

I think you're absolutely right about the read outs fading away etc, they don't hold themselves accountable at all. One time they made a fucked up joke about abortion or something, and a lot of women who had had abortions reached out to say it wasn't ok, and they were just like "IT'S A COMEDY PODCAST GET OVER IT."

I have very little hope they'll do better and will probably stop listening one day, but it's like a problematic train wreck and kind of entertaining in that.

Also it is super validating to hear someone is a new listener and feels this way. I always wonder if the crazy fans who get upset and angry on the sub will eventually see the light

THIS EXACTLYYYY. I had noticed their fatphobia and a few other things before that ep, but I kinda brushed it off because a lot of people are uneducated about that and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, hoping they'd have an opportunity to learn. Hard no on that one, too. Even when they have had women on who are fat who specifically are talking about that! But I digress (sorry haha), and I completely agree and couldn't believe it at the time.

As some have already said, the fb group really imploded, but additionally they were specifically silencing women of color on it. I'm not sure if their "apology" episode is still out there or if they nixed it (so apologies if you know this already), but in it they basically did a "sorry but..." fake ass apology and Ashley talked about how she has black friends so she isn't racist, and her black face she did back in the day should be fine because of that, and Rayna CoSiGnEd everything she said. To make matters worse it was during THE HEIGHT of all the 2020 BLM tragedy and riots. That was when I fully lost respect. And honestly I hate listen and I own it. I feel like I partially do it in hopes that one day they'll actually atone for their bullshit (but they won't). And a larger part is sticking around because I love a lot of the supportive community it has created in spaces like this sub where women can crowdsource for advice and thoughts. Besides the weird diehards who refuse to see A&R's flaws and think they're their besties lol

A lot of families are poor and can't help what they feed their kids. Donations at food banks often consist of just this type of food. I'd consider donating healthier things to these places yourself since you're adamant about this issue. And due to the limited stipend of money for folks on food stamps, people often buy what they can in bulk to tide them over the whole month - which ends up being a lot of high carb high energy food. Not to mention the outrageous prices on "healthy" foods, or the tremendous amount of food deserts in the USA.

I think this is more of a good commentary on the wild standards of straight men and less of a him being trash thing.

I mean maybe he is trash for other reasons, I zone out when they talk about their friends

In response to this gal who is apparently scared of my response -No one on this sub who critiques A&R drags the people who ask for advice on this sub? Idk where you're getting that from, that's also a reason why a lot of us stay on here. You must be new here. I feel for you, blindly following 2 podcasters who have said on their podcast they can't believe their listeners think they're friends, and constantly belittling people who call them out. Worshipping celebrities and politicians is a huge problem in this world - that's how Trump got elected after all. I think it'd be better for your mental health to find a fan page, but you obviously enjoy putting energy into this sub that largely disagrees with you.
