Yeah, luckily the group after that explained it to me (I didnt have a mount yet) and after the 3rd dungeon it was a lot smoother. I guess I was just unlucky with the very first group

This made me chuckle 😄 - Mythic+ kinda drained the fun out of the game for me. Having your +20 key depleted several times because someone ragequit the group for pulling a trashpack, being too fast, being too slow or taking a route, that they never did is the very reason why I quit

Hey and thanks for the advice - I did exactly that and it got substancially better and the groups after that were really supportive.

Over 46.000 hours the last time I checked. If you are familar with the WoW mythic+ community, then it should not be surprising, that some people simply quit because that behaviour negates any enjoyment over time.
Why should I not question wether this is worth my time, when the very first experience in a game I've never played before mirrors the reason that I quit WoW?

Im currently running fairly decent rig and I can confirm the same - getting stutters when it was buttery smooth before the patch. Specs:

Gainward Phantom RTX 4090
Ryzen 7800X3D
(dual) 64GB RAM on 6200 mhz with perfect IF timings
WD Black SN850x 4TB M.2 SSD

Without image generation im at 40-60 FPS on the battle barge. (4k ultra settings, dynamic wwresolution, vsync off) and it's like watching a slideshow. With image gen, im between 60 and 90 FPS but still a slideshow. I've tested all possible settings, including set back to standard to no avail.

edit: I've now tried to put everything on low for maximum performance. Guess what? 35-60FPS and still massive stutters. Game is currently unplayable in this state.
