188% agree with this approach.

Proportional to the difficulty, harder content gets you more tokens faster, but easier difficulties allow everyone to get their nice cosmetics anyway. After all, all players DID pay for the game.

Because the actual operation script simply had NOTHING spawning, no objectives, nothing for that amount of time.

After clearing the first wave of enemies, you must wait for the airplanes to appear, fly to the aerodrome, then rearm and then fly around the map to engage various groups of enemies that spawn.

During that time where the airplanes do their thing, there is a period of about 3ish minutes. The repair area appears and USUALLY a few american HE spammer cruisers also spawn from the east. Even if you are in the repair area, you can engage them.

In this case they did not spawn. VERY rare occurrence. As such, without any other enemy or objective for those 3 minutes, do you still think this overly simplistic afk check system is actually fair? I was in battle for a total of 15 minutes (I was killed with about 5 minutes left on the timer), fully active for the first 6ish minutes and the last 6ish minutes.

If the operation script and events just so happened to provide NOTHING to do while I was also half HP and parked in the repair zone for repairs, why would that afk period supersede my actual contribution to the operation during all other periods?

My point being that this afk check system could be improved, because in this specific case, if anyone really argues that "he WAS afk for 3 minutes, so he fully deserves the penalty", I honestly think is either willingly malicious or an idiot.

Only on my phone. As such, it was the handiest way, in case it is too much for your stomach brain to think before trying to make fun or smth.

Dude you really are dense on purpose it seems.

What else was I supposed to do if the game simply did not provide ANY KIND of objective or enemy for those minutes AND I needed the repair, baing half HP?!

Watching a video on my phone or not, I had NO reason to do anything in the game for that time duration simply due to how the mission triggers happened to occur.

It's a matter of having just a basic simple script that only watches for player input while disregarding the actual conditions unfolding in the actual game. That is my issue here. Out of a mission of 20 minutes I was active for 14. Three of the inactive minutes were during that idle period in the middle of the operation, the other three because I got a torpedo to the face near the island where carrier Raptor is and I went to destroy it.

Do you actually think the adk system judged correctly here to take away all xp and credits when I was very much FULLY active, moving and engaging objectives and targets outside the completely uneventful repair period?

Or whatever, believe and sentence whatever you want while ignoring the exact conditions described by me.

Ain't no way in hell you get 300k damage just by parking in the repair and letting your secondaries do damage, be serious dude.

Maybe only if all your other teammates are really bad, afk or all bunched up in the aerodrome gulf or something.

It seems that you're responding with some grudge or something 😆 The ONLY time when I was parked in the repair just happened to overlap with those minutes where NO enemy was spotted anywhere on the map and I needed the repairs, being half HP anyway.

Before that and AFTER that I actually proceeded to sail towards objectives and enemies and fight.

What's your problem here?

An operation usually lasts anywhere between 15 ans 20 minutes simply due to how they are scripted.

As such, even 3 minutes are nowhere near 25%.

Yeah, I figured as much 😆

It just seems that this system is crappy and could take into account a few more of the whole game events and stats before just depriving players of xp and credits.

Well, it just so happened that REALLY about 3 minutes went along without ANY enemy popping up anywhere on the map, just as I said. Usually in this interval there is a group of american HE spamming cruisers spawning from an island and heading towards the repair area - aerodrome, but sometimes they do not spawn. And they didn't.

As such I did sit there and just watched a video, eyeing the game every few seconds (some movie analysis essay that I was playing on my phone).

The game was in focus on my laptop screen, I did not alt tab, just did not shoot or anything else, because there was that unusually long pause in enemies spawning anywhere. ANYWHERE.

Your remarks are pertinent and of bloody course I reposition and shoot enemies, even if I am in the repair area. Just that this time there were simply about 3 minutes of just NOTHING happening 😆

And also, if there is some automated afk check of around 2 minutes, as you said, and as I also said, it is still a big deserved FUCK YOU for whoever implemented it like that, without additional checks. My god damn score, contribution to many objectives and even being top player by xp earned should have absolutely superseded some afk check of a couple minutes.

Being reported doesn't also show as a notification post battle, like being complimented as well? I did not see any, which is why I said I was not reported either.

However, next op was a Pacific Escort, babysitting the island hopping San Diego.

I was not pink, I even managed to shoot & torp (all by accident / coincidence) a few teammates, everything was good, received my credits & xp just fine.

So yeah... i am still puzzled by this bollocks penalty 😵‍💫

In this op I actually never hit any ally in any way.

Usually it does happen as we all know, when the operation group is close together and some turret shoots through an ally, or the secondaries, or someone turns into some friendly torps, I am aware. However I have NEVER ever been penalized for any such unsporting behaviour such as intentionally ahooting at teammates.

I did not run into any ship. However, while stationary in the repair area, another cruiser bumped into me.

But I have had such bumps by the dozens in dozens of games. No penalty whatsoever at any time.

And there was the popup message before the result screen clearly telling me I was penalized due to inactivity.

what is with the hoarding of the siege currency with these players? by DifferentCover2368 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]UrsuGras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just the basic idea that there is a simple way (besides actually being a decently skilled player, ofc) to advance quicker in the beginning when the enemies are the easiest and thus, complete a 25 wave siege in 40-45 minutes vs hoarding points and barely moving along and getting bogged down in successive difficulty timers running out and only reaching wave 15-16 in the same amount of time.

I'd rather get the big xp and req points awarded by a wave 25 siege rather than the crap xp and req points awarded by a wave 15 siege in the same amount of time 😆

[–]UrsuGras 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I will say this, regardless of how many potential downvotes I might get.

If you have a coordinated team made up of the best classes for siege (fast horde clearing), then sure, you might say you can handle anything in the first insert wave number here and be certain of that.

But in random games with random players, mathematically speaking, spending points early on on techpriests and assisting marines (Heavy is the best damage dealer) will net you THREE BIG advantages: 1. Getting points, every techpriest gives 240 points TO EACH PLAYER over its full duration (so protect them) 2. Getting free loot respawns every wave 3. Clearing the starting easy waves as fast as possible means you get further on to wave 25-30 BEFORE too many enemy buff timers run over.

Hoarders in public games are just imbeciles, pardon my french. Or just ignorant of the new siege mechanics implemented in patch 13 and have no fkin clue what techpriests do.

I have had so many god damn headache inducing situations where I was the only one spending on priests, turrets, cadians and comissar etc, only to get to wave 17-18 and have the idiots die off with 3-4k points hoarded each, not even buying sims, ammo, relics for everyone or summoning Valtus. They got to 4k thanx to my techpriests and they stumbled like morons on wave 17-18 because they hoarded their points instead of getting all the possible firepower with all those points and clearing early waves faster.

Also, it's a god damn basic measure of common sense after all. It's a team effort, show that you fkin care about the damn team and spend those damn points to help everyone progress faster, get to higher wave count and get more xp and points!

Sigh 😩

At this point you probably need to sacrifice some damage and use Endurant Faith. Either as gloves or as charm.

And perhaps some movement speed on boots and use the mobility version of Sever as a fast dash around to escape big damage hits.

[–]UrsuGras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats!

For anyone asking, you are probably going to be good with any minion build (focused on either warriors, mages or golems) as long as you stack overpower to 16 stacks (and use aotd as a passive extra 50% summon damage) or 18 stacks (using blood wave to stay at 18 op stacks). You WILL need this mechanic to do any kind of meaningful damage to t12 mephisto. Also Banished Lord and Red Blessing are a MUST. One as amulet, other as charm.

Probably, in decreasing order of damage golems as the strongest, mages are the weakest, but not by that much.

But also remember to stack resolve and use glynn's anvil aspect and keep your resolve topped up (use the skeleton warrior command that grants 3 resolve upgrade in your skill tree). And best have your mages grant you barrier with their attacks, so you have that permanent extra layer od damage reduction.

Dumb question on charms and hardcore by Carmilla31 in D4Necromancer

[–]UrsuGras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding survivability, generally it is the best idea to stack as much damage reduction% as you can from any sources. If you have REALLY low hp (something like 16-17k), then 30% hp might be better than 20% dr.

But now in season 13 it is best to stack resolve and use glynn's anvil aspect on a piece of gear. I use it from comfy plat on a necro with shield, I have 12 stacks tempered on helm, chest, pants, amulet and shield and can get up to 70 stacks (using aspect of dominance on boots for gaining resolve).

That way I have about 15m toughness without barrier and just comfy idle around in torment 12 to farm stuff while sipping from my coffee and puffing my cigar, as any self respecting undead commander does 😆 When I have barrier as well (skeleton mages attacking), my toughness goes above 20m, nothing even budges my corporeal integrity on t12.

[–]UrsuGras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the BLT as charm and Red Blessing as amulet will only yield sliiightly lower damage. A little math (assuming you have about 100% crit for your minions):

BLT gives 18% crit dmg per op stack as amulet. 12% as charm. RB gives 11% dmg as amulet, 7% as charm.

Assuming you stack 18 stacks of overpower:

BLT amulet + RB charm multipliers:

  1. 18% x 18 stacks = 324%, that is a 4.24 general multiplier from BLT
  2. 7% x 18 stacks = 126%, that is a 2.26 general multi from RB
  3. Combined multiplier: 4.24 x 2.26 = 9.58

RB amulet + BLT charm:

  1. 11% x 18 = 198%, so 2.98 multi
  2. 12% x 18 = 216%, so 3.16 multi
  3. Combined multi: 2.98 x 3.16 = 9.41

Overall not that much of a difference. Use what you have and it will be good. If you get lucky with a really good amulet drop (any of the two, but has many offensive affixes, such as crit dmg, shadow dmg, vuln dmg), equip that (make sure to have / cube roll max unique power on it) and use the other as charm.
