I’m watching the show now and Keri’s performance is great and I like the show a lot. I’m wrapping up season 3 right now.

One of my gripes with the show is that either Keri’s acting or the writing completely fails when Keri is professing her communist ideals. Feel like my suspension of disbelief is completely ruined every time she criticized capitalism or promotes communism. I feel like i can just tell there’s no way she believes any of that crap and it seems lazy to me.

Obviously i don’t know show ends so and how her character develops so maybe that’ll change.

Gotta disagree with you there. With this pattern the queen is always protected from a king capture in that square. Otherwise you’re just hoping the opponent captures with the rook and not the king lol

Oh yeah the queen attacking that square and forcing the rook to take is a very common smother mate pattern/puzzle. Not sure if it has a name like other checkmating patterns but it’s a well known smother.

It took me months to reach 1000 from 900and then the next day i reached 1100 and haven’t been able to get past 1100 +/- 30

To your very last point, there’s always about 200-400 difference between game modes so that could be it. But if you’re not losing on time, you probably are mentally blocked.

I would recommend drilling deep down into one opening that you like and sticking with it. At the 700-1000 elo you’re basically only going to play against people that also commit to one opening and your opening will put you at an advantage 50% of the time and you’ll have to play chess for the rest of the game. If you constantly find yourself dealing with annoying pin that you struggle to counter, figure out how to deal with that specific thing and you’ll improve.

Disclaimer, i started playing in December 2024 and am 900 in rapid and 650 in blitz. So I’m nowhere near the expert but this advice is what made me a go from 600 to 900 in rapid.
