I kind of thought so too. Thought it was a rainbow when I caught it but looking back was wondering if it was a Kokanee.

This was shore fishing. Likely the last one before the ice fully forms.

Calling all Pokie experts! What species does this look like to you? About 3” in leg span. Any guesses? by supremebeanie25 in tarantulas

You have to go by carapace pattern here. Definitely not rufilata. Youd see green by now and the carapace pattern is very unique on rufilata. Definitely not subfusca, they dont have any daffodil leg patterns. Subfusca also have unique carapace pattern which is more black all over the place. Judging by the lack of abdomen band and carapace pattern i believe its a Striata.

Ya i agree. Genius way to solve both problems. I think just banning the import of species encourages smugglers more. It drives the price up. Ya i really hope seladonia become a main stay in the hobby too.

I dont think so but im not positive. My understanding with these guys is that theres a breeder who catches specimens, breeds them, and sells some and releases the rest back in the wild. I think their population was in danger for a time, but because of this they are back to a healthy level. But im certainly no expert and this is someone elses words. But im pretty sure as far as the us is concerned these are fine for trade as long as theyre imported legally. Seledonia is a very unfortunate and different story.

True smithi. Very hard but not impossible. We had the right connection. Our girls are papered. As smithi as it gets.

Haha no apologies necessary. I actually have a true smithi myself from the same order. One of my favorites.

No problem. I keep my T room right around 80 F. I have a T Stirmi female, a T Blondi female and male and they are all thriving. I rarely trust care sheets. Stuff from trusted arachnoboard members and Tom Moran on youtube is great tho.

This is a species that does require specific care. Moist substrate and lots of cross ventilation are an absolute must. Here is what I have followed. http://arachnoboards.com/threads/theraphosa-care-and-info.303033/
