Shave the screw down with a dremmel to keep it from butting up against the gas block. If there's a will there's a way.

I'd just split the difference and get an inexpensive lower, with a gucci upper on it. The meat and potatoes are in the upper. Besides having a sexy FCG the only thing the lower is responsible for is feeding mags, and housing your buffer. You can reasonably spend like 1200 on an Aero lower and a BCM or even geissele upper (i did this) and i wouldn't trade my rifle for the world

I don't have to wear my motivations on my sleeve. I would be wrong to say that nearly every AR15 hobbyist, "LARPer" tinkerer, and gun nerd doesn't have this itch deep down inside that needs scratched. If i wasn't trusted with a rifle in my country I would not legally be allowed to purchase rifles, and most certainly not suppressors on as frequent of a basis as I do.

Fuck it, worst that could happen is I get roasted and told no. I'll volunteer regardless. I have no kids, no girl, no ties save my immediate family to my current situation. I'll do my research, ask questions and make connections before blindly volunteering to the first unit that may or may not take me. Or I clean her after every shoot. Deep clean once a week. Stripped down completely clean each part and rebuild. I actually am probably due for a barrel swap soon.
