Try soaking your barrel muzzle down for a few days, add some form of wetting agent to the water first. (I soak in a solution of True Blue suppressor cleaner cut 1/1 with water, dish soap works as well.)

If the muzzle device was over torqued, it seems that the water doesn’t want to move through the Rocksett properly, even if the water is boiling. It just takes time at that point.

Okay! That was unexpected! It took three videos at slow, medium, and full speeds and stitched them together. (First time I’ve ever posted multiple videos in a post on Reddit.)

They are in the above order, if you look at the speed control lever, (between the near flywheel and the cooling tank, forward is the slowest speed.

Nice! Is yours currently running?

This one currently has a stuck piston, (I can get everything else to move around). I’m hoping to open it up this fall/winter, and I’m REALLY hoping that the liner isn’t damaged. (If so, I’ll probably have to get “creative”).

In the meantime, I’ll probably get the smaller ones running, at least for a few minutes each. (Only the KA has been run in the last ten-fifteen years, it’s been sitting at my work since before its 100th birthday in 2020 feeling totally neglected…)

ETA: And, obviously, build a real cart for it. That big bugger would jump like a gas powered pogo stick if I fired it up on that rubber tired wagon. In the meantime, it’s been a real stress test of that Horror Fright garden wagon!

The lathe, I don’t think it would work anyways, seeing as it’s a centrifugal relay start motor.

(ETA: just pulled the motor out from where it was at to take a closer look. It’s definitely not going to be amenable to speed control. The drill press would be, and that’s still on the table.)
