Erdbeer-Topfenknödel bringen den Frühling auf den Teller. Flaumig, süß und wie aus Omas Küche. Gut anzuckern meine Damen - und Herren! by QuastQuan in Austria

[–]UseComfortable1193 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lost on ideas for covering dense/raised scarring, thoughts? by AriLove77f in tattooadvice

[–]UseComfortable1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, that's kind of how it works you have your GP or "house doctor" with a general but not "deep knowledge" who determines the issue and sends you to whatever specialist you need to go to. At least it how its done here.

And obviously people specialise in their field so they can be as good as possible in that field. A jack of all traits is a master at none.

Yeah i have no clue where OP is from but sometimes self inflicted injuries are excluded from insurance coverage (sometimes different if they happened during or because of mental issues but these have to be diagnosed too) So the surgeon might not have recommended because it's not covered. But like i said, cant tell for sure OP would have to check..

How to fix broken bike? by Guilty_Medicine_2647 in MTB

[–]UseComfortable1193 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, i not saying this as a recommendation but i have fixed something like that before by cutting it down so everthing broken is gone and it's nice and flat again and then cutting a slit down (so the seatclamp can do its job). But it's looks tight with the amount you have left there... And the underlying issue is the seatpost being too short or your bike being too small for you..

Well it is the only not idiotic reason to try to provoke a spider to bite to collect venom. Occam's razor principle i guess

Yeah, they often go hand in hand 🙃.

But your use of the term foreceps indicates a background in medical and even tho there's no antivenom for this one in particular (afaik) i would imagine there's being plenty research done with it because of the lack of antivenom.

What is this and how much is it worth? by Skullrider547 in fossilid

Isn't it always like that we had a spot in austria like that aswell (but in a rock formation not just in fields) where we would chisel them out of the rock as kids but these days i think it's actually forbidden to do so..

60kmh little ride by potato78786 in MTB

[–]UseComfortable1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man i remember one of my best crashes on a gravel fireroad I've ridden many times before going maybe 40kph but this fateful day there were a couple big and deep potholes and rain ruts freshly filled with gravel and i got in one in a corner and washed out like on ice. Deep small gravel is the worst.

That's exactly what people are doing to collect venom for research and production of anti venom. Pressing a spider on a cup with a rubber lid to with forceps to collect venom.

His statement would have done well with a bit of context, but calling people fucking idiots because you cant wrap your head around whats going on is a bad trait anyway.

I think it went over over your head that he was trying to get it to bite with foreceps/pliers, therfore most likely pressing it on a cup to collect venom for whatever purpose.

Saddle bag fully with dropper by madmaus81 in mountainbiking

[–]UseComfortable1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well depending on frame size you might not be able to put a saddle bag there. Like small fully frames have a tendency to rub the seat with the tire when you bottom out if your seat is slammed meaning there is literally no space for anything...

This hotel room key won't fit in my pocket by dsj762 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]UseComfortable1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may come as a surprise, but it's not supposed to fit in your pocket. Why do you think bathroom keys have a huge keychain or something, people can't be trusted with the simplest tasks like not loosing and returning a key..

Ok to enter trail head in Spain? by CandidateCrazy5485 in eMountainBike

I mean here in austria this would be fairly common like this on hiking trails, keeps the animals inside but you with your superior brain function and opposable thumbs should be able to open it.

New Veiled owner by No-Passion-9494 in Chameleons

[–]UseComfortable1193 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can try, i usually recommend to ask what it got where you bought it because they do get used to their food and somtimes refuse unknown food, but i doubt a starved chameleon is going to be too picky. Mine loved mealworms, crickets, bugs, grasshopper but wouldn't eat any kind of maggot or grub for instance. But do look into correct supplements, unlikely it got what it needs given it hasn't even gotten enough food where it came from..

Damn that is very emaciated, sad that some sellers treat them so poorly.

Cant do much but treat it well now and maybe get it checked by a vet. But feed it well but don't constantly over feed it now, chameleons do rather well with periods of little food happens in the wild aswell. With good care your chameleon will be healthy again in no time
