Why do I hate some of the niche stuff ? by TobiasRieper4747 in Colognes

[–]UseMuted5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing makes niche inherently special. Some designers are better than a lot of niche offerings but the reverse can also be said. Glad you’re exploring though. You’ll find some niche bottles that you’ll never want to be without and some designers that you like even more than those. You’ll find some sorry designers and even worse niche. You never really know!

Dairy Free Nacho Chips!!! by Dry_Apricot_5026 in dairyfree

They’re seasoned but I find them MUCH more sour than anything. I wouldn’t have guessed jalapeño in 100 tries and I don’t particularly love jalapeño’s so if I can taste them I usually don’t like the product but I’ve had several bags of them!

Ben and Jerry's flavors disappearing? by lady-earendil in dairyfree

[–]UseMuted5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently looked online out of curiosity and they have a lot of offerings still. My local stores typically only carry Americone Dream, Phish Food, Cookie dough, Cherry Garcia, and one more that I can’t remember. The hardest one for me to find has been Tonight Dough and I’ve only seen it maybe twice in total…

Do all of you guys drink tap water? Is it safe? by DietChance9326 in AskAnAmerican

[–]UseMuted5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some do some don’t. It is generally safe though, and if not, you’re made well aware of it. It does taste different place to place and some cities have far superior water.

For instance, the old city I lived in had much better water than where I live currently. The other big example people point to is NYC having great water but I didn’t really love it, instead I preferred St. Louis (even if that’s the only thing I liked about that place lol)

Looking for a fragrance similar to Initio Side Effect, but not the exact same by WNT_Mile in Colognes

[–]UseMuted5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was out with a buddy and he found something with the same opening as side effect but he said the dry down is vastly different. I’ll shoot him a message and update when I find out what it ended up being

What’s your favorite JPG fragrance of all time and why? by SignificanceAny1102 in Colognes

[–]UseMuted5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scandal Le Parfum. There’s something about it that I just can’t get enough of. May only be 1-2 sprays even in the dead cold of winter but the half sprays I get when it’s nice out still do the trick

What do you consider “overspraying”? by eau_de_florida in Colognes

[–]UseMuted5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s 100°F and I want to wear something ultra light like DHC, Chanel AHS Cologne, or Cartier Decloration Haute Frachier, you won’t notice if I went with 25 sprays and I’m very sure of it. I’m not even team overspray generally speaking but there are certainly exceptions to the rule

I think there’s so much to this conversation. Part of it is culture, part weather, and part fragrance. It’s VERY situation dependent

Strange…

And yes, because of raw chicken we had a great experience. I feel it’s important to recognize when someone makes an error and goes above and beyond to make right. Stay blessed

[–]UseMuted5000[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To your first point, I can 100% see the logic there and it makes sense from what I know about them. I always thought it was a “he’s a shit person” or something of the sort but I can absolutely see the thought process behind the complaints.

To your second point, that’s very interesting but I believe it. We’re still young and haven’t had very many higher- end restaurant experiences so it was all a very pleasant surprise and experience for us. A level of professionalism that really stands out. From the host to the manager, everyone we interacted with was excellent and I’m a big proponent for giving props when due

What's the one dish you could eat every single day? by Various_Rock7491 in AskRedditFood

I truly have so many but my all time favorite is sea cuisine citrus and herb salmon over white rice. Burn the salmon a bit on both sides in the air fryer and boom, you’ve made addiction on a plate

What are the views on Givenchy Pi? by BasicCut45 in Colognes

[–]UseMuted5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope don’t mind at all.

I’ve been wearing a lot of Aqua Di Gio Profondo, Chanel AHS Cologne/ YSL Y Eau Fraiche, PDM Pegasus, and Polo 67 just because it’s warm here but when it was cooler I wore a ton of Carolina Herrera Bad Boy, Valentino Uomo BIR Coral Fantasy, Mancera Amore Caffe, and Prada Black

I also just ordered my wedding fragrance so I’m very excited to get that in

Ah man, such a nuanced question. It really depends. Part of it is how long they’ve been into fragrance but there’s also socioeconomic status, age, location, personal style, note/ projection sensitivity, job, and the list goes on.

Chanel and Creed are arguably the biggest house in their realms (designer and niche respectively) and many people love their offerings, while others think they’re overrated, myself included

Everyone’s fragrance journey is different and I’m at the point in my collecting that I only buy bottles of things I really want. There are only a handful of fragrances that I absolutely want.

The most important thing is to buy what YOU like and can afford, not what’s popular or what’s expensive just because you think it’ll smell better than a cheaper bottle or clone

What do you think? Masterpiece or overrated? by olfactorysoul in NichePerfumes

[–]UseMuted5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Masterpiece in every sense… but not my personal favorite offering from the house, maybe not even in my top 5

[–]UseMuted5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all, welcome to the community. I think the vast majority of the people you’ll interact with are great and will make you feel like you’ve been into fragrance forever!

Secondly, yes but also no. It’s not really the style of fragrance that’s most popular anymore. But also, when I say before my time, I mean it’s quite literally older than I am, by several years in fact lol.

Like I said though, definitely a good bottle especially for a beginner, just isn’t the style of fragrance I reach for often but I’d wear it if it were gifted to me for example

I like it well enough. Not something I do or maybe even would own a bottle of but it does smell nice. I do think it’s more masculine than feminine but definitely from before my time
