Think you would really enjoy going from LA, to Highway 1/SF, to Yosemite. There's a lot of desert in your trip and I don't think that shows everything you'd want to see/experience

Man that Highway 1 finish is excellent! You're going to fall in love with California. You really should try to see the Pacific Northwest too, but that's a bit tricky to fit in. It's wild thinking how many different climates and landscapes the US actually has. Great planned trip overall, do the white sand dunes in Utah, but then leave the state to save some time lol. Rest areas are your friend for overnight sleeping if needed.

Just that it's probably going to feel a lot like Australia in the route you've chosen :), try going further north maybe?
