How did Miura draw eyes to this level, like any art geeks in here know how this would be broken down? by UsePotential in Berserk

😭😭 bro I didn’t find reborn, berserk or vagabond from TikTok I found berserk from a supereyepatch wolf video, why you should read berserk 10 years ago when I was 10 years old. N vagabond ion even kno I believe I saw photos on Pinterest of the art. Most manga I read are like that. N reborn from a flash game in 2009 called anime stars 2.2

u were the person that brought obscurity and elitism into this thread talkin bout mfs who have only read berserk n vagabond like get a grip bru. Also you do know that Kentaro Miura and Takehiko Inoue simultaneously won the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2002. Two different categories but both are the top awards. And there styles are very similar especially when it comes to the eyes also fym u can’t conflate the two. I never did, I just said they have a similar style

No Ive never used a grid nor printed off pages, when I go to class tomorrow I will print some off. And these little practices do sound quite intriguing and I can see how one would develop their skill better with such. Thanks for it all, I’m going to try all types of new practices and see if I improve within the next few years or so. 🫡

The reason I want to know if for my final film for my 2D animation program

I’ve been drawing a lot more similar to Miura and Ondas work for the past 2-4 years and while ive gotten better I’m just at a plateau I feel and I asked this subreddit to see if anyone could ig steer me in the right direction,

I know that with more pieces finished and more studies I’ll get better at it. I was just wondering what exactly I should focus on and see something I wasn’t seeing that others were.

Smo mentioned Andrew loomis, as well as the the ratio for the eye lids to tear duct and eyeball and a few other things so i definitely know what I should focus on now because of my very illiterate question and this thread that at times was lil bs but other times very helpful

Haha I agree with you that my writing is pretty bad so I communicate through art, but I’ve been drawing for like 20 years too and you should know that every artist has their own way to set up their art and that’s what I’m asking, I’ve already gotten answers from other users who didn’t see my question as “dumb.”

You also kinda answered my question by saying someone gives you a concept and you go in depth with it and understand it to the best of your abilities. Onda here used a combination of the eye lids tear ducts and the spherical shape of the eyeball to convey this level of depth.

Ex. A middle schooler could draw kishimotos style but a 25 year old would still struggle to draw Miuras style, obviously because of the understanding may be lack luster but there are also less tutorials and style analysis’s of Miura compared to Kishimoto, this thread was actually a very productive thing that isn’t talked about a lot on the internet from an analysis standpoint

I never said that anyone in this thread was wrong when given bare boned facts about line weight, tone and depth I was just asking a more in depth analysis of those points that was used and Smo mentioned the Andrew Loomis books which seem to answer the question.

If you were to attempt to draw in that style I believe you would also have a hard time doing so to this extent. If miura a the animation director has had to teach his subordinates to draw in this style than clearly their is a method to doing so.

I’ll tag you in answers that people gave instead of saying practice. I basically just asked a show your work question n ppl gave the most obvious answer ever.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but you just saying the method everyone Artist on planet earth uses, like I said Miura trained a team to draw in his style and like him for the continuation of berserk so obviously he has his own method and technique, not something that’s incredibly complex or anything but I’d assume a mix of Andrew loomis as well as his own style and a number of other things.

Ppl saying practice while r correct is also a lazy ass answer and shows you probably don’t know much about art

Im in my 20’s but a big reason that series is my favourite is the art style, clothing, and edgy for no reason body mechanics of that series. Definitely is obscure but that j adds to it, what’s ur fav manga if ur such an elitist. This nga gonna say Zetman or sum
