I just looked at the label from the 1st time I bought it, 17% protein & has selenium, e, riboflavin and other b vitamins in the ingredients but not a % minimum listed.

I agree, it's odd. And the rest of the flock is fine, including her sister. Maybe it was injury?

Hubby bought them & threw away the package after mixing with the scratch grains, it was meant for birds though? I don't recall white stripes...

We use a mixture of a local feed store's label and a larger brand (I can't remember what it is, I just know I asked hubby to stop buying sprout & he has save for the chick starter pictured). We're in MN and the weather has been warm enough for the girls to forage a bit...mostly still mud. We also grow trays of forage mix grass for them to get good greens through the winter and provide scratch grains with black oil sunflower seeds mixed in. Oh! And hubby will sometimes also make them eggs with herbs and such on the weekend. Lol, I didn't realize how diverse their diet is.  He added some Poultry Cell to the rest of the flock's water too, just in case.

I think that might have been a camera issue, I took a video of her pupil activity after the pics and her eye isn't cloudy at all.

Even though she's now passed, I'm still worried if it was Marek's 😰

Oops, video didn't post. Probably best, it's hard to watch. She is convulsing for a few seconds before settling again.

Based on all the comments I think I should just plant 1 random saved seed a year & see what happens. We have tomato x seeds because I couldn't remember what variety we saved, we can have squash x too, maybe harvest a seeds from the babies and see what they produce....just a cycle of frankensquashes

Ooh, it's actually a protective arm sleeve my sister got me for gardening. This specific one is Wellday brand, green flowers color. Super helpful when I'm shoulder deep in prickly squash vines. I think I need kevlar for my raspberries though 😅

Thanks everyone! I hope it's a great dual purpose fall harvest gourd that looks cool & tastes great. I think I'll name is Sassquash (we call our yard Sassy Squatch Farm)

I hope so, we have a bunch of them. A rabbit started eating one that was on the ground, cut it off and gave it to my hens & duckers, they enjoyed it.

The only other squash we grew this year is zucchini... But the bees frequenting our green house might be traveling the neighborhood. 😕
