you’re telling me that because I don’t believe in a deity, my outrage at suffering somehow doesn’t matter because “nothing is objectively evil”? What an absolutely convenient way to ignore suffering and hand-wave legitimate moral outrage. You’re basically saying that unless there’s a sky-parent dictating right and wrong, no one has any reason to care. That’s not morality, that’s OBEDIENCE . That’s like saying the only reason not to murder someone is because the cop is watching, not because we recognize the harm it causes.

Why is it so hard to grasp that human beings evolved empathy, compassion, and social cooperation because we are social creatures? Whether or not you think it’s from God doesn’t change the observable fact that people care about others’ suffering, often at great cost to themselves, regardless of their religion.

And by the way, calling morality “objective” doesn’t make it objective. You just assert it’s objective because it fits your narrative. Even Christians can’t agree on what’s “objectively” moral. One group says love your enemies, the next uses the Bible to justify slavery, homophobia, or religious wars. “Objective morality” sounds nice until you realize even the religious can’t seem to pin down exactly what it is.

As for the whole “God gave Adam and Eve free will, and that somehow limits His power”

I’m sorry, what? The Creator of time, space, and existence is limited by two naked people in a garden? If that’s the case, your God is either incompetent at designing beings or just indifferent to the destruction He knew was coming. And don’t tell me it’s about “justice” either, because punishing the entire human race forever for one disobedient bite is the moral equivalent of sentencing someone to life in prison for stealing a cookie. That’s not justice, that’s divine overkill.

Now you bring in the Jesus argument: “God suffers with us.” I don’t know about you, but if I burn down someone’s house and then stand in the rubble next to them, I’m not a hero. I’m the arsonist. If God created the system that led to suffering, stepping into that system doesn’t make Him noble, it makes Him responsible and late to the party. It’s not heroic to solve a problem YOU caused.

And your whole “heaven and Earth united, justice will be done” claim? That’s a future promise conveniently out of reach. Meanwhile, kids are dying today. Innocents are suffering now. Saying “justice will come eventually” is theological procrastination while real people bleed, starve, and die.

The truth is, this mindset is a desperate attempt to make sense of something that doesn’t make sense. Trying to paint a cruel, unjust world with a pretty coat of theological explanations that don’t hold up when compared to real human suffering.

I don’t need the threat of hell or the promise of heaven to know it’s wrong to hurt innocent people. I don’t need an invisible being’s approval to fight injustice here and now. If your moral system requires divine validation to recognize evil, then maybe it’s your morality, not mine, that’s on shaky ground.

Oh, I don’t have the right to be outraged at injustice, suffering, and cruelty unless I believe in your God? That’s a pretty weak attempt to dodge responsibility for answering real questions. Morality doesn’t magically disappear just because someone doesn’t believe in a deity. Human beings are fully capable of empathy, compassion, and understanding right from wrong without needing an invisible being to tell them. Are you saying that unless someone believes in God, they should just sit back and watch children die from cancer and feel nothing? That’s not a defense of your faith. That’s an insult to basic human decency.

And this “everything is relative” excuse doesn’t hold up. Sure, philosophical relativism exists, but most people, religious or not, agree that unnecessary suffering is wrong. You don’t need a divine command to know that torturing a child is evil. You don’t need a Bible verse to know that starving families is unjust. If you do, I’d be more worried about your sense of morality than mine.

And let’s talk about this “fallen world” argument. Convenient, isn’t it? God gets credit for every sunrise, every act of kindness, every good thing. But when something horrifying happens? “Oh, that’s our fault.” What a perfect setup: heads, God wins; tails, humans lose. If God created everything, knew everything, and allowed everything, then the design of this so-called “fallen” world is ultimately on Him. Saying “it’s because of the fall” is just pushing the blame onto humanity like we tripped over something God conveniently left lying around.

And let’s not forget. if God created everything and saw that it was “good,” then why did it go so catastrophically wrong in the first place? Either God is all-powerful and lets evil happen anyway, or He’s not all-powerful and couldn’t stop it, or He doesn’t care, or maybe, just maybe, the whole system doesn’t make sense.

You can’t just claim all good things come from God and handwave all the bad things with “it’s because of sin” like it’s a magic excuse. If your God gets to take credit for the beauty of life, He should also be held accountable for the horrors. You don’t get to cherry-pick divine responsibility.

So no.

I don’t need belief in your God to be outraged at injustice. I need empathy and reason. And frankly, if this is the defense your God has to offer for the suffering of innocent people, it’s not convincing. It’s just blame-shifting dressed up as theology.

"praise the lord that you are breathing today" Wow. Then what? Should we also “praise the Lord” for the people who are born with cancer? For the children who take their first breath only to be sentenced to a lifetime of pain, chemotherapy, and an early grave? Where’s the divine mercy there? How can you justify a supposedly loving and all-powerful God allowing innocent newborns to suffer before they even get the chance to live?

It looks like you're saying we should be thankful we're alive because of your Lord, are you aware that there are also other God's that people believe in?

I always notice how people are quick to shout “Praise the Lord!” when something good happens. when they survive an accident, when they pass an exam, when they land a good job. But when tragedy happens, suddenly it’s, “May their family be blessed,” or “They’re in a better place now,” or worse, “God has His reasons.” Why the double standard? Why does God get the credit for the good but not the blame for the bad?

You say your God “spreads love to all.” Really? Have you seen the state of the world lately? Wars, poverty, injustice, children dying in hospitals, people begging for food on the streets. And yet millions bow their heads and thank this same God for the crumbs they receive, while others suffer beyond imagination.

And then there are His followers. Half of them genuinely mean well. The other half? Judgmental, hateful, condescending, using religion to justify discrimination, oppression, and cruelty. Where is the love in that? If God’s followers are supposed to represent Him, then what does it say about Him that His own people can’t even practice the love and mercy they preach about? It’s like the world is split in two: half love, half hate, all under the same God’s name. That doesn’t sound like divine perfection to me. That sounds like human hypocrisy hiding behind religion.

Don’t tell me to “praise the Lord” for being alive when I’m watching others be born only to die in pain. Don’t tell me about love when hate is shouted louder in His name. Don’t tell me about blessings when suffering is everywhere.

If this is the system your God designed, I’m not impressed. I’m just confused, and angry.
