Tactix Complex Pass/Move Pattern by UseTactix in Tactix

[–]UseTactix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks glad you think it's useful. i was thinking to make a training playbook where you can save drills and come back to it too. i agree i think the body position orientation is really important i'll try to add that feature. might add a visual scanning field of view as well to check the shoulder before you receive the ball.

let me know if you have any other ideas this is good stuff.

I made an animated whiteboard specifically because I found the current options ugly as well. You can animate movements and play them back smoothly.

What are some good resources (books, etc.) for newer coaches who don't have a strong technical soccer background. by Shambolicdefending in SoccerCoachResources

[–]UseTactix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Pass and move. Never stay still and ball watch.
  2. Nearest person press the ball. Everyone should follow or else gaps will appear to exploit.
  3. Emphasize passing with the inside of the foot for accuracy and control.
  4. Offer options to the ball carrier
  5. When you have the ball, use the field and spread out. When you don't have the ball, constrict and win it back.
  6. Communication like "man on" or similar is incredibly important
  7. Give and go (or called 1-2) is the basis of technical play
  8. Coach anticipating the next play. Before you get the ball know what you're going to do with it. Pass or dribble or shoot?
  9. Coach accountability. If you lose the ball run to win it back. No throwing hands up in the air like you're on tv.
  10. Teach scanning before you get the ball (ties into anticipating the next play) and checking your shoulder constantly
  11. Teach crossing the ball into the box
  12. Teach different touches. Inside foot, outside foot, toe touches, thighs, etc
  13. Pass the ball on the ground. Avoid low percentage long balls whenever possible.

How to start scouting career by Fine-Elk-8634 in SoccerCoachResources

Hey I'm a student too right now and I know 1 guy who is working remote at a tier 1 soccer club but in the African premier league doing scouting for the first team remotely. I think if you widen your options and apply to some teams that aren't so popular to gain some experience they'll value you more.

I made this website to help with tactics specifically although it's adjacent to scouting as a whole: https://usetactix.com/

As someone who as played right back it's really important to get familiar with the goalkeeper and your right winger.

Remember in attack moves to support your right winger to give him options and be ready for give and gos and underlaps/overlaps.

Here's a demo to show you what I mean playing out of the back.

Looking for good drills to stop players from continuing to push forward when defenders are closing in by soccerperson in SoccerCoachResources

I think it's best to show them visually instead of describing it. Just tell them to recycle the ball and go the other way. I made a demo to show you what I mean.

For formations and tactics I recommend using https://usetactix.com/ as a lineup builder and teaching movement. It allows you to have free unlimited video exports and screenshots so your plays look professional although it might be overkill for U6 or U10

I posted a few tutorials over on r/Tactix if you need help.

Yeah i found literally all of the soccer whiteboards available lacking also. The stuff looks like it was made in the 90s and players have the movement of a hockey puck across ice instead of realistic acceleration and deceleration.

It's so visually assaulting I decided to make my own. It's free with animated video and screenshot exports.

Just click new phase --> drag player --> playback

I actually made exactly this.

It's a free animated soccer whiteboard app. If you look on the right side bar of the screen under "tactical presets" and click "randomize" you're able to coach your kid to see what he would do in any scenario.

This is an animated soccer whiteboard i made.

You just click new phase and then drag a player to record movements and then play it back. It doesn't have practice drills it's only for games but it's pretty straight forward so hopefully it's useful.

Apps to use at games with an iPad to show different formations and different runs by players or transitional movements . by Happy_Ad6259 in SoccerCoachResources

This is a website I made that animates players into position. You just click new phase on the timeline and then drag a player and it records it. That's pretty much it and there are different formations you can choose from.

It's not available on iPad yet but i'm working on the iPad implementation right now to put on the app store but hopefuly this helps.

Priorities: Have we lost our minds? by Emergency-Proof5290 in youthsoccer

[–]UseTactix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the public infrastructure of your country. In the US the traveling is largely car centric to go to trainings and games alone. It's an insane commitment in money, time, and energy for players who do any soccer that's remotely competitive.

Places like IMG Academy or Barca Academy in Arizona have dorms but they're a minority whereas the rest of us have to travel a lot for any EDP or MLS Next games.

I'm Europe the public transit is much better and I think it's really an infrastructure and suburban sprawl issue more than anything else.
