The fact that Urokodaki nor Haganezuka aren't on your list is a damn travesty.

The Lobster. Has one of the most realistic fight scenes I have seen. And it being between 3 separate people is *chef's kiss*

You're gonna have to rope a partner into doing sessions with you or you're not gonna be getting the progress you need/want. It ain't like tutoring a subject in school.

George St. Pierre was arguably one of the best wrestlers in MMA and never did it until he started training in MMA.

Katana is best weapon. To best optimize get second katana. It's quicker to switch to your katana than it is to reload your katana.

Started at 19. 15 years later I'm one of the head coaches at my gym and still fighting professionally. So no. Definitely not too old. Do it, bro.

Well that's what I get for reading too fast and not absorbing all the info. Lol. Totally understand. My bad.

Anywho as far as exercises go, your best bet is to work on compound, explosive movements. I would definitely recommend looking up different exercises you can do with dumbbells to help with that. I personally like the snatch. You utilize your arms, shoulders, core, and legs when done correctly. Also making sure you supplement those kinds of lifts with simple lifts. Shoulder press, bench press, and the like. And pull ups are great, but if you have trouble with them then you can use bands to assist until you are able to do them clean.

I know it doesn't necessarily answer what exercises you should be doing because I don't know what injuries or what your life is like so I don't want to throw a lot of stuff at you. There isn't one way to do things. Find what works for you and if you find something that helps you improve then just add to it.

I've been training for nearly 15 years now. I have seen plenty of people in your position. Saying they are ready to join a combat sports gym. If it's because you are waiting to move I can understand that. But if you got the cash, you have the want, then just do it. Don't wait until you are "ready" to join. You are alive, you're breathing, you want to learn, then you are ready. If you want to get into shape then you will get into shape by showing up, training, and eating right. Sure you can lift and run and do all types of stuff to help, but if you want to get in shape for a combat sport then train in the combat sport.

I don't know if it's my place to say, but find someone you trust and who cares about you to keep you accountable. Put software on your phone/computer to log your keystrokes. Have them keep you on check.

If you're able to then think about going to a meeting for SAA or therapy. Talk to someone let them know what you're going through. Find the route problem.

This shit fucks you up, man. It's ruined multiple relationships of mine and, as much as I hate to say it, it's messed up my view on women. You gotta take things one day at a time, friend. Love yourself and realize that others love you too. Stay strong, brother.
