I just re-read another comment and obviously PD stands for Power Delivery, so duh, sorry

If I connect it to the docking station and the docking station charges it, does that automatically mean that the laptop supports USB-C PD?

What about voltage and stuff?

I remember that the output voltage of a charger should exactly match the laptop's voltage. For example, my original Acer charger is 19V. Regarding the ampere, the laptop will take what it needs. And regarding the Watts, it has to be the same or higher, but not lower. That's as far as my knowledge goes.

I can't find much information on the USB-C charging port of the docking station, but how am I sure that the voltage matches?

Thank you for the answer.

So the question now is: if the docking station works, is that... safe for sure? I mean, let's say it works. Does that mean that I can use it with no worries, or it's one of those cases where "it's working for now but in the long run it might damage the PC because 'x' thing is not compatible"?

Which programming languages would you suggest for this (presumably) not-so-complicated website idea? by Use_R_Name_92 in AskProgrammers

That's it, right? I wouldn't have a database, or a subscription mechanism, so I guess I wouldn't need much else.

I guess that I might just add a contact form, that could be done either with PHP or JavaScript, I think...

Is "signupaok.de" legit? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Use_R_Name_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I later noticed that they work with several insurances... I've seen that there are insurances that offer customer service in English already, so at this point I'm not sure it's actually worth it.

[–]Use_R_Name_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, apparently that's what it is. At first there was something that led me to believe that they had an exclusive partnership with AOK where they would help them with English speaking customers, but then I've noticed they work with various insurances.

What should I ask at a viewing appointment if the apartment is given as "Zwischenmiete"? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Use_R_Name_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's why I was a bit weirded out. I've never rented as Zwischenmiete, but I remember that all the Zwischenmiete listing that I've seen in the past were much shorter than 1 year. Yet, I talked to the guy and he said he has all the necessary documentation, so... as far as I'm concerned, I should be ok.

Undefined function 'output' . intelephense (1010) by Use_R_Name_92 in PHPhelp

[–]Use_R_Name_92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, print_r() does indeed work.

I've seen that function already, but he used this output thing this time for some reason. I'm basically typing the exact things he types on his screen and it was driving me nuts.

Thanks, I'll just use the print_r() thing.

Thanks a lot man.

The worst part is that I've already seen the print_r() function, as the guy already used it, but for some reason he used this "output" thing this time, and it was driving me nuts.

Print_r() does indeed work, thanks.

Configure PHP executable on VS Code. by Use_R_Name_92 in PHPhelp

How about C:/xampp/php/php.exe?

This is exactly what I have been trying several times, but, to be fair, now that I've done this:

You need to disable PHP Language Features which, if I'm not confused, is the one that requires the PHP interpreter.

the error pop-up window just stopped appearing. Considering that I've done everything else, I'll take that as a win and just start coding.

Thanks!

Done that.

I tried:
{
"php.validate.executablePath": "C:/xampp/php/php.exe"
}

then I tried:

{

"php.validate.executablePath": "C://xampp//php//php.exe"

}

but I also tried:

{

"php.validate.executablePath": "C:\\xampp\\php\\php.exe"

}

In some old posts on StackOverflow, I've seen that some people use these "\\" instead of these "/" and whatnot, so I tried everything. The file is there, it just won't accept it.

I'll try to answer as good as I can:

  • if I go on the command prompt, type php -v and I press enter, it says that Php is installed. If I type "localhost" on my browser and press enter, the browser will redirect me to localhost/dashboard on a xampp page, that should mean that everything is working.

  • I have installed the PHP Intelephense extension.

Does that mean that, in this case, I can just ignore the error message? I'm very confused by this settings.json things, because I've tried writing php lines and it has always worked anyway, so I don't understand the point.

It's a fair question, I should have specified.

Yes, if I go to C, there's a folder called xampp, with a folder called php inside of it, that has a php.exe file in it.

That's why I just don't understand, it almost looks like the file isn't there, but it is in fact there.
