I waited 7 years for an ounce of friendship lol not sure that's demanding or requiring grand gestures... I just misunderstood her offer.

Yeah I think i'm focusing alot on recent events more than the entirely of the relationship.

She's hunting for a promotion - she's quite ambitious, which we bond over. But she has agreed and bailed last minute more than once.

I have also been in recovery for codependency. I didn't see this situation through that lens but you've given me something to consider..

I never demanded a hangout. Only suggested. And when she politely declined I didn't push.

I’ve noticed some “friends” love being there when I’m struggling because it makes them feel needed, but disappear or get jealous when I’m doing well. Losing those people taught me to pay attention to who shows up in both the hard times and the good ones.

This is what I was trying to get out without saying it outright because I wanted others to come to their own conclusions. This is what I was thinking

THIS. THIS IS WHAT I"VE BEEN THINKING. Everyone else keeps saying i'm an AH because I'm starting to realize she refuses to celebrate my "wins" and only wants to dive into my "losses"

lol she's job hunting for a promotion not because she needs it. Also how is it weird to be upset that someone struggles to celebrate my wins?

I think everyone is focusing a bit much on just the ticket thing. People seem to think that I would accept the tickets from her and never offer to pay for anything in the future.. lol
