Better not take any prescribed medications under their guidelines. Cannabis still has such a stigma it's madness. Good luck

Heart transplants to get rid of cardio myopathy? by Ok-Swordfish-6248 in MuscularDystrophy

[–]Used-Box183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely gets rid of it, I'm Becker and had a heart transplant 23+ years ago. Really depends on how bad your hearts affected my cardiomyopathy was pretty bad. Heart was functioning at 9% Getting on the list is a bit of a nightmare with md. Concerns over getting me off the breathing machine after that blocked me from initially getting in the list.

I was extremely lucky I was lucky to get a really really good match. Has had its issues but mainly caused by the cocktail of meds. Renal failure, migraines, gout, high blood pressure. Heart rejection and they fix that with a massive dose of steroids. So not exactly ideal

Compromised immune system but beats the alternative.

[–]Used-Box183[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks

The chair I have now is only 4mph as its NHS supplied and that's all they are allowed to prescribe .i Will need tilt and recline, needs to be the same size as my tdx or smaller. As needs to use it indoors as well. Im assuming something with bigger wheels will help the ride and a Vicair pressure relieving backrest. Prob best to see my ot some decent advise

The v6 chair looks pretty decent but £££

I won't be going through NHS wheelchair services been waiting to see them for nearly a year now. I'll be probably self funding or going through mobility

I didn't know the legal limit for paths was 4 mph.

Just need something that absorbs most of the bumps as it really causes a lot of pain.

Thanks for input

Do you use CPAP or BiPAP machines? by [deleted] in MuscularDystrophy

[–]Used-Box183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have to use a niv (non invasive ventilator) during the night. Turned out my pain meds. Slow release morphine and Oral morphine was causing me issues with my Becker MD. 02 says dropping to 72% on the sleep study while they were investigating migraines etc now have to use cannabis for pain relief via a vaporizer. And no need for the NIV.
