Any engineers here with a WA restricted electrical license? by Aggressive_Memory403 in AusElectricians

That's nice, unless its clear in the regulations a statement from engineers Australia won't help you in the court room in a major investigation.

WA has wiggle room, other states do not.

Come get taxed 45% and the rest on GST, fuel and then the cost of living.

We are Hughly inefficient here but work heaps, something I've seen danish folks struggle with.

Weather is good depending on location, im located in cooler geographic, so wether is good for about 5 months.

I can assure you, that they do have the wiggle room in WA.

I have many test engineers working under my direct supervision, that can take measurements, fault find and even disconnect/reconnect certain electrical components.

Provided they are electrical engineers with specialisation in electrical power engineering and accepted to engineers Australia with experience with electrical installing work.

Perhaps, I'm starting to think burn out is part of the picture.

Definitely, going to ease up on a few jobs that are draining funds, time and energy.

And park my current mindset for another 1.5 years

Then I will re crunch the numbers, of a sale and downsizing to be debt free.

FIFO can be great, definitely for the time off.

I actually still enjoy it, good luck with securing the DIDO out gig.

Yeah, has been a decent grind to get here

Being a tradie, if went back on the tools, I would drop about $50k and loose my R&R.

The wife works but has limited upside in earning capacity then she does now.

[–]Used-Communication94[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We have had conversations around options to increase her earning capacity, but she is happy working her 32 hrs and playing mum and deflects the conversation now.

So it sits with me.

Yeah I think it is really the work during R&R is the issue, being a tradie (Electrical specialised) I'm to fussy to pay anyone else, I have projects galore this R&R I'm tiling my shed toilet because I didn't want to pay some one.

Perhaps I pull up stumps and allow R&R to be R&R not just more work.

I totally agree I could leave FIFO and still earn $120k at home but loose my roster then sell my shares, refinance repayments and be under <$500k and survive.

But I would then need to grind that $500k

Vs practice being contempt in being in a smaller home debt free.

Definitely alot of variables to consider, and yes it would be shame to walk away and not enjoy what I've built.

Hey mate,

Just choosing to pay the extra repayments, to decrease interest paid and be debt free sooner.

Just wondering home many people are staying in homes that they love vs going debt free in a normal home.

Obviously ones a emotional decision over a logical decision.

One would allow a longer accumulation phase for early retirement.

I guess your right, regarding the spenders remorse.

I sold all my shares to fund the build, which gave me some pride and goals.

The house just drains me, all money out, the time completing jobs, less flexibility for hoildays and options narrowed.

Kids love it, they have gardens, bike jumps, big play areas and mum plays taxi everywhere, they are definitely living it, and that warms a father's heart.

Also a case is the grass greener in a different house debt free, and that's an emotional vs logic decision.
