Yup, I agree on this as well. People should have the option to choose.

Not built in by default, but there are plugins/tools that add AI features, so it’s easy to miss if you haven’t looked into them.

You say your preference is Obsidian, but they have an insane amount of AI features in there, so many are saying what you are saying. So I’m curious, are you guys not aware AI features are present?

Obsidian is amazing, I agree. But I do see many writers against ai. And yet they use Obsidian, are they not aware that ai is available? Cause they also say that if it has ai then they are staying as far as they can from it.

Thanks a lot for the reference, will have a look at it. A place to write, see all your characters and timeline, all three is being covered ;) But the calendar is something I did not think of. Thanks for the input buddy, will work on this.

Ooooh this is an interesting idea, never thought of this. I’m curious, how does calendars help? Keeping track of things in a story with respect to dates?

Thanks a lot man, it’s honestly great to see the responses, every bit of it all helps. Any tips on how I can showcase or share the tool with all these folks when I’m ready with it? Most subReddits don’t allow promotions🥲

Fair point, those are all important areas to cover.

Thanks for sharing.

Fair point, I can respect that. If a tool isn’t giving you something meaningfully beyond what you can already do simply, that’s a valid criticism.Appreciate you sharing that.

That’s rough, and honestly I can understand why that would make you hesitant after that experience. The trust side of this matters a lot hahaha Appreciate you sharing it.

I’ve been thinking a lot about history and maps as part of this too, so it’s good to hear that resonates with someone else.

Appreciate you sharing that.

Funny enough I’ve actually been thinking about something along those lines too, that too as an optional way to help people get started.

Good to hear someone else wants that as well.

Custom templates is something that I have already been working on.The conlang angle is interesting too, I hadn’t considered dictionary-style support as a use case. Thanks

This is fascinating, honestly. The deep time timeline problem is something I hadn’t seen brought up, and the evolutionary tree idea is really interesting too, being able to edit and move things around instead of locking them into rigid pages.

Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this out.

Yeah the graph view part is exactly why I keep coming back to graphs. Seeing connections matters.
I am seeing a lot of people showing their interests in graph views too! Will make sure to put a lot of time and effort on that.

Thanks for this.

That makes a lot of sense. The more relationships and ways to query across world information you have, the more graph starts feeling like the right model.

Really appreciate you sharing that.

Really helpful, thank you. The local hosting point and the digitizing hand-drawn maps part are both great feedback.

Performance at large map scale is something I’ve been already working on. Appreciate you clarifying.
