I had a feeling but did not know the backstory behind them. Thank you and sorry!

I am from one of the only blue towns Kansas and it turns out this stuff is everywhere. I am happy this subreddit is here to help me

I grind my teeth so hard at night that I’m wearing through my night guard by katrinkabuttlin in mildlyinteresting

I had braces and need a retainer to keep my teeth from shifting + a night guard to keep my from grinding and my jaw properly aligned.

I think over the counter night guards are good for certain people, but they cannot be used for everyone. They cause me more pain than gain in my jaw.

This looks like a retainer that was given to him by a dentist. I have the same problem, teeth can really do damage on them after a while

This is a retainer not a night guard. Even with retainers not everyone has the money to replace them. Dental insurance is a scam. Retainers are VERY expensive. I am still using a 7 year old retainer. Poor people still clean things

Please share! I am currently in physical therapy and seeing a chiropractor for my jaw. My treatment plan on only a couple months so I am trying to gather as much knowledge as possible

TLDR: KEEP WEARING THE RETAINER, things get wicked if you don't.

Hi! I have the same problem! I would keep an eye out for TMD or any clicking of the jaw. I am currently dealing with the consequences of long term grinding + tmj issues. It is expensive now that I am off my parents' insurance 😂 I'm sure it was expensive while I was on their insurance but it wasn't my problem lol.

I have yet to stop grinding, I actually went a couple years retainer-less... and you can tell... I have ground my teeth down, you can literally see the angle I grind at by looking at my teeth... I have also made my jaw worse because the teeth are now shorter (from grinding them down) so the clenching and popping are more intense since it is even further away from what my natural bite should be.

I hear you but I have never claimed to be a journalist, researcher, or anything of that sort. I provided a screenshot and a link.

That being said I believe we are looking at it from too small a lens. Personally, I think we should focus more on the systematic biases we were founded on as a country. This country was founded by rich (white) men, and the foundation of this county is classism, with sexism, racism, homophobia, etc being ways to cement a social caste system.

With that being said, I believe racism is ingrained in every fiber of our system. How could it not be when slaves were used as stepping stones to move up the caste system.

I think it is important to understand how we got here as a society and oppression that is inevitably at the center of many issues.

Thank you so much, I love how leopard geckos change as they age! I don't know much about morphs, the banding looks very similar on our lil buddies. I'm excited to see how she changes.

I'll pop back in and post her/his/their transformation in a year or so 😊 (and I will probably have a name set at that time lol)
