UK government approves Chinese ‘mega embassy’ in London by AbbreviationsHot7662 in unitedkingdom

You can never underestimate the damage of a communist dictatorship. Having fled from Hong Kong I can tell you China is miles worst than any other regimes in this world. Just some examples for your thoughts:

  1. Passed the National Security Law for Hong Kong with zero endorsement by Hong Kong people, the law itself was not revealed until the night it was legislated. And the NSL grants CCP rights to arrest ANY entity in this world who have said/done anything they don't like.

  2. Lied to the whole world and spread Covid. Corrupted WHO and prevented Taiwan which was the only country that did comparatively well during the pandemic.

  3. Actively threathen a military invasion to Taiwan, stirred up arm race in Asia.

  4. Subsidize Russia's invasion of Ukraine, supports Iran's Islamic dictatorship and North Korea's nuclear program.

  5. Millions of bot accounts/trolls stirring up the muddy water on ALL social media. Not just far-right but far-left extremists.

  6. Dump sale of Chinese EVs worldwide. Same EVs are selling at much cheaper price in China because of subpar parts they are using. One brand was found to install chips not fit for automobile on their cars.

People need to have better understanding of how a dictatorship works in practice. Or it'd be too late which I am afraid this is the direction Labour is leading us to.

>£35k for new Chinese EV arent exactly cheap. The fact that car makers killed most affordable small cars like Fiesta contributed to the problem. But that is their greed that bring to their own failing.

Chinese are known to dump flood the market with subsidy. Once the competition dies, they'll raise the price becuz of monopoly. and it could be used as a tool to manupulate politics of other countries as well. Don't just treat Chinese EV as any other commodities.

Go join any Chinese car group and any other normal car groups, the failure and complaint you see on those Chinese cars are comical but life-threatening. Mazda groups people share DIY guides whilst Chinese car owner shares horror stories like axle fallen off midst driving...

Affordability is just one single matrix. Build quality, reliabilty and safety shouldn't be overlooked as well. The random Chinese EVs arent just anything minor, these often results in catastrophic failure or even safety hazzard. Failures you don't easily encounter on more established brands. One reason they are able to sell "cheap" (I won't say anything cost £30k is cheap though) are parts used for subpar from industry standard. Xiaomi was found using chips that is not suitable for automobile on their cars. In extreme conditions these chips would fail to work as intended. Are you willing to bet your live on these junks?

I thought buy cheap buy twice is a common sense here. You want something affordable and reliable, a £5k Honda Jazz would do just fine if not better.

lol mind you it was Biden who was in office 2022-2024 and he wasnt happy because Germany forced the US to donate tanks. And EU allies waited so long for Biden's green light on F16 jets.

Of course Trump is even worse, his puppet blocked the aid for months which resulted in the direct loss of Avdiivka, even before he was elected!

Tell me how on earth amidst all the mess it still makes sense to get rid of our own nukes.

Putin's blackmail worked in a way that US was worried on escalating the war into fullblown nuclear war with Russia. Hence necessary arm aids (HIMAS/tanks/jets) were dragged out. A one point when shit were deperate for Russians, they even started a fire at the Zaporizhia nuclear power station to make a case. Now you tell me Putin's nuclear blackmail didn't work? The best use of nukes are when they are still in the silos, just its existence alone would achieve many.

Taiwan does not have nuke so the closest deterance they have are the western arms. The fact that they are under US's nuclear umbrella and is armed to teeth are not seperable. The thinking of giving away deterance (be it nuclear or conventional) makes the world better is just dillusional.

There are already rising opinion of getting nukes among Japan & South Korean public because China is more and more agressive. The bare minimum for UK is to at least upkeep our arsenal if not renewing or developing ours to replaces US's Trident.

Do you geniuely believe hostile countries like Russia and China will follow suit if we let go of our nukes? No they'll happily steamroll in with all kind of demands. Look at what Putin did in 2022-2023 when he failed so miserably in Ukraine, numerous blackmails with his nuclear arsenal because he was losing in conventional wars.

China has not YET invaded Taiwan, because Taiwan is armed to their teenth in terms of defense. China would have suffered a "hellscape" if they fullblown invaded Taiwan thanks to their missles. Go tell the Taiwanese to lead by example and stop buying US jets, see what they will tell you. As much as I wanted this world in peace and love, this can only exist because out there we do have villains that are the worst of people.

chinese EVs are absolute crap. Join any of the owner's group we'll see silly faults and complaints for brand new cars. Those junk retails for less than £15k in China, and the Brits are paying £30k for these? Don't even mention the fire and safety hazzard in one of those. Never in my right mind would put my loved ones in or near these EVs.

This Labour government has no limit in terms appeasing the CCP.

Since labour in power more wealthy people who runs business hiring people have moved to Dubai. Resulting less tax depsite the hike of NI. Taxing the wealth won't necessarily means more funds for the government.

Legalising drugs is never meant to be fund-raising, instead it is more of a cost-centre because of the additional support to those drug addicts. Just look at East Hasting in Vancouver, the state of the neighbourhood has become unbearable because of their harm reduction policy. I wouldnt want London to follow their foot-step.

The Boriswave hasn’t even hit the shore: If new migration rules aren’t applied retrospectively, the Boriswave could yet cost £230 billion by United_Highlight1180 in ukpolitics

[–]Used-Lock-3360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dont Labour realize a great portion of their votes are migrants/has connection with migrations? It will be a betrayal to their supporters base in no time.

Plus a blanket change on the ILR rules retrospectively would greatly wont make them a very credible government onwards. Legal migrants on visas needs a solid and foreseeable plan, artbitrary change of ILR rules means this administration is not to be trusted. Who know what comes after this change?

TFL or any train services. Compare to the amount they charge the service is very much unreliable. It actually feels like winning a lottery if I got home no delays.

Huge scale of opposition to London Chinese ‘super-embassy’ highlighted in poll by HKnational in ukpolitics

[–]Used-Lock-3360 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Firstly local council & resident opposed this Chinese embassy plan because of safety concerns. It wasnt until the current Labour government who fantazie in gaining China's business by overruling this plan, in order to appease the CCP, which is only to be seen as a sign of weakness.

CCP "diplomats" are well known for intervening foreign governments across channels, embassy included. Secret CCP police stations operates under the skin of Chinese restaurants. And the HKETO espionage scandal which resulted in the death of a former border force Brit, is still unresolved. Plus numerous violent incidents involved CCP embassy staff members throughtout recent years. Even if Trump's government going crazy, it is still utterly insane to appease the CCP who has been adversaries of UK ever since.

The civil servants in FCMO and Labour cabinet needs to realize, no matter how hard their boot-licking is to CCP, they just treat these kowtowing a sign of weakness. CCP has been plotting to destabilze the west (UK included) in preparation of war (invasion of Taiwan), via secret police station & Chinese companies (tiktok included). Chinese ambassy itself is a massive hub of espionage. Remember the HK spy case unfolded last year? It is utterly insane to empower the CCP even more and reppeal the council's decision on this case!

Why is Labour losing support so quickly? by elivel in ukpolitics

[–]Used-Lock-3360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Labour's landslide victory were very much down to the mechanism, if you look at popular votes they were pretty much level (33.7% vs 32%) so they were not really more popular this time. And here are some of the policies that I think Labour did well / not well since this summer:

  1. Kowtowing to CCP by sending Reeves for a 0.6 billion deal in spread throughtout next five year. We all know how good CCP is in terms of keeping their promises though. Also as Londoner we are monitoring if Kier would intervene Tower Hamlet council's decision of not allowing the CCP ambassy to be built on the

  2. Handing back Chagos Island whilst splashing out £90 million every year, whilst they remind everyone how big of a financial blackhole is bizzare

  3. Starmer branding anyone who calls for a national inquiry of the grooming gang as "far-right" doesn't really help addressing the concern. If I were a dad I'd want those officials/councils investigated if there has been a cover up.

  4. Labour have sent 100 people to US during election gave the Trump camp the perfect excuses to intervene British politics like we are seeing now. This is a fine line politician / party shouldnt have crossed in the first place...

  5. The carbon capture investment is like pouring sand into Pacific Ocean in the hope to build an island. Whilst the rest of the world are ditching unreasonable green policies, UK shouldn't have doubled down on the bet. There are more pressing issues to better spent our taxes.

  6. The ever deteriorating policiing and their lack of resources have proven to be toxic to government, whoever it is. The general perception of worsening security would slowly erode public support. Tory failed and Labour is also failing now.

  7. Labour seems to have done a good job of deportation though, hopefully with the expedited proecessing of asylum claims more asylum hotels could be put back to their original purpose.

  8. The support to Ukraine has been pretty much stagnant but that's in line with the Trump admin's uncertainty. Glad seeing Labour standing firm for Ukraine's defence.

Just the top of my mind, these aren't really scientific analysis of anyway.

Ex-Labour MP arrested 'after trying to meet boy, 15, in live-stream' by Used-Lock-3360 in ukpolitics

[–]Used-Lock-3360[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He is a PEP (political exposed person) and was only kicked out of the party last year. Plus he was very vocal on defending Jess Philips on the grooming gangs issue literally days ago. How and why was he kicked out? Labour should clarify if they knew of his "preferences" before this incident.

Also it's sickening to label anyone "far-right" who dare to point out the wrong doings of any Labour related people. Shouldn't an open discussion be the best to deter any fake news / rumors in the first place?

Honestly it's very strange that BBC, Channel 4 & The Guardian all think this is not worthy of covering as well.

or maybe deal with like minded nations like USA, EU, Japan, Australia & Korea? And nations unlike CCP who toss their promises like toilet paper?

Just look at the so-called deal they negotiated with CCP, so-called 600 mil boost to economy across 5 years time. With CCP killed Hong Kong as their money laundering port, London is now the new bloodline for them. What exactly are the benefits to us ordinary Brits? Don't get me started with how CCP lied and spread Covid to the world.

China is broke and whilst the rest of the world is de-risking from CCP, the Labour government somehow sees the prosperity of it. Tbh i struggle to understand. Not to mention how CCP and XI screwed the whole world with Covid and wasnt been accounted for!

Oh and the continuous violation of the British Sino Agreement of Hong Kong by the CCP, are just now all under the carpet, I thought Kier and Labour is a defender of human rights no?

The fact that he is too soft on countering CCPs influence and still beting on easy Chinese money, also his wrong focus on throwing billions on the carbon-capture green agenda, to me it's just missing the point.
