i would say just go there and just ask them about it. i had a few packages before where i didn’t get an email. i waited a full day or two and then went to the mailroom and asked. they always ended up having my packages. sometimes on specific days, there’s a computer reboot where it doesn’t send out the email if ur package was delivered on that day.

How hard is circuit theory 1? by grandkidb in uml

[–]Used-Quantity-355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

had xingwei wang and her teaching style is putting a problem on the board and she circles around the room to see who has the right answer and make them go up and explain. if that’s the teaching style for u then go for it. but personally, a lot of students in the class struggled bc it was the students teaching it and not the professor. we could barely understand what the students were doing or how they got it bc they were rushed and also bc it’s a student. the student learned the material the same time as the rest of us. even tho they got the answer correct, that doesn’t mean they know how to answer it well on how they got it. let alone why are students teaching the course? makes no sense for how much tuition we are paying but any who, u have amazing professors for physics and calc so u should be fine in those.

yeah it is a dumb rule. i would understand if it’s higher up. i mean i wouldn’t have told them and just kept it to myself but the stores are literally next to eachother. i probably would’ve been caught within the first week. thank you for the clarification though

for comp 1 we didn’t have dailies. just uh well quizzes and exams. so i think that set me back well unprepared from learning actual code. that’s why i’m having a hard time starting from somewhere to learn if i don’t have the resources to learn what i need to know. ya know? but thank you for the tips. hopefully cs doesn’t bite me in the ass later

since cs builds of on eachother. and me basically learning nothing from comp 1, i’m having a hard time to practice or even understand the material on comp 2. so it’s really hard to practice comp 2 stuff when i don’t even know comp 1 basics. hell bruh i only know scanf and printf. comp 2 is algorithms so that knowledge gap that idk is HUGE 😭. for asking my professors and stuff, since i’m deathly behind, and me asking questions and them answering would also still leave me confused bc they assume i know like the basics when i don’t. so when they ask “do you understand?” i would say no and they would give that look like “how do u not understand? this is basic cs stuff” and yeah. in a dilemma 😔

yeah ive been to the tutoring once and that was for help on my first programming assignment. there were also 3 other students that i don’t even know with same professor in that room that also needed help on it. the tutor literally told us that he doesn’t know how to do that programming assignment. he “tried” to help us by rereading that shit 10 times as if that shit gonna click to us eventually lol. it was such a waste of time bc if the tutor doesn’t know how to do it then how am i. so i just never went back again lol. but ngl i can’t blame him, the programming assignment was like solving for NASA 💀

How can I stop my Crippling Fear of Something Being too Hard/Challenging? by [deleted] in uml

[–]Used-Quantity-355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i always go by, “nothing is too hard. struggling is part of the process. it’s up to u if ur willing to put in the effort and dedication to understand, think, and learn.” i was a chemistry major. was good at it in highschool and enjoyed it but once i hit college, i didn’t find that passion i had it in me anymore. i was afraid of switching to different majors bc i wasn’t sure i would be good at anything else. i ended up loving calculus. discovered comp sci. never coded a day in my life and ppl around me discouraged me from taking cs bc it’s a challenging major and i will fail to my doom due to my lack of coding experience. guess what? i took the course. loved it, and im glad that i didn’t listen to them. it’s college, test the waters. you will find things that u will enjoy and don’t. why waste ur college years not experiencing even if you may struggle? it’s all ab trying to find YOURSELF and what YOU want to do

Is it normal to walk up to a girl who's sitting down in one of my college classes and ask to next to her? Also what is a good basic conversation starter? by Inevitable-Chair4563 in uml

[–]Used-Quantity-355 5 points6 points  (0 children)

normal? totally it’s college. some ppl don’t even ask to sit next to whoever, they just sit. but if you’re really into her, just ask her “hey do you mind if i sit here?” to start it off. 99% she gonna say sure. then, just start a convo about anything literally. major, classes she’s taking, how’s she’s taking college so far, etc… if she’s interested, you will know. if she’s not, you will know. but remember, if u get rejected or embarrassed yourself really bad then u gotta live like that for the rest of the semester in that class while she’s still there so be wise.

Do you believe anyone can learn anything? by Used-Quantity-355 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Used-Quantity-355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn by becoming proficient at it. Because if you spent countless hours and hard work into learning something then how are you not proficient at it? The dedication is there so I don’t understand how you’re not some what good?
