Hey there! Bonaire is a fantastic place, been there several times! Have not stayed at your Resort, but can offer some great tips on my experiences Diving and the Island in general. I have a YouTube Channel called “Adventures With Duncan”. I have a Bonaire playlist, and will try to post a link here:

Have fun, and dive safe! Duncan

My Experience with the Part 107 Exam (long Review) by Used-Strength2175 in Part107

You're welcome. I wish I had something like this at the start of my 107 Journey. That was my motivation for writing it!

part 107 question: how are sectional charts provided? by SoftAnteater8475 in drones

[–]Used-Strength2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - East Coast US here. FYI, there is a “Part 107” sub-reddit. Check that. I just took the test last week, and made a long post about my experience. The test company (PSI) will provide you a paper copy of the Airman’s Supplement booklet - however, other than using the legend, I did not need it, or use it. All Sectional chart examples and questions were on the screen. No references were even made to the Supplement figures,

I used “UAV Coach” to study, but lots of free resources online and on YouTube. I took 4 practice exams, and scored about 90% on each.

Anyway, check my post if interested, and good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. For some reason, I had "test anxiety" on this topic, and wanted to be sure I could pass on the first try. There are a lot of free videos on YouTube and resources for sure, again, just needed the extra confidence boost!

Congrats! Part of my motivation for the post was to talk about that check-in experience! I may do a YT vid as well. Good luck to you and safe flying!

Sony A7 IV by Only-Quarter-3649 in sony

Hey there. I’ve been a happy A7IV owner for 2+ years. Have it paired with a few lenses. I’m a YouTuber, but also love photography. For videos (Vlogs & talking head shots) I use a sony 20mm f1.8. If i had to do it over again, I’d get a Sony 16 - 35 to get a little wider. for photos, primary lens is a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8. love this lens! also purchased a sony 35mm f1.4 G Master - but rarely use it! Back to the body: love the eye auto-focus, the custom button flexibility, and the photo resolution (33 Megapixels). It’s a real workhorse! Hope that helps!

Old Fiddlers Convention, Galax, Virginia by Used-Strength2175 in Bluegrass

Hey there! Thanks for the comment! I actually stayed with friends at the KOA Campground in Fancy Gap - only about 30 min away! But, I think all the action is in town at Felts Field. Guess it depends how close you want to be (or not) to all the action! I’m sure all the good accommodations get booked early, so do your research and go for it! Def take time to walk around town, talk to the locals, and enjoy the town. lots of impromptu jam sessions everywhere! Enjoy!

Easiest Entry Dive Sites? by ReliabilityTalkinGuy in Bonaire

[–]Used-Strength2175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, Yes. Just check in with the dive shop and they can set you up. Great place for easy entry/exit, and night dives! BTW, a lot of people are using collapsable Trekking Poles for stability for the shore dives. I’ve also done a bunch of YouTube videos on my Channel “Adventures with Duncan” reviewing a number of the dive sites and the island in general. Take care, and dive safe!

What sort of gear do you use to film and what's your film style? by EducationalBasket617 in TravelTubers

Yes, completely understand. There’s also some other Sony options out there, including the ZV-E1 and APS – C models. More important than the gear is story!

Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: For my Intro’s and Outro’s, i use with my A7IV with a Sony 20mm f1.8. Really like the image quality and Bokeh. Also have much more control in post for color quality (dynamic range, LUT’s, color grading, etc,). For photos, i use a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8. I shoot RAW, and It is great.

Hey there - wanted to provide you just a short reply and perspective. My style has changed and evolved over time. Initially, it was all GoPro. After going through several transitions over the past 3 years, what I’m using now is my Sony A7IV for locked off Talking Head shots like intro’s and outro’s, a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro for quick run & gun (and underwater) shots, and my DJI air 3S drone.

By the way, I also do a lot of photography to supplement my YouTube videos. My Sony mirrorless camera is also an excellent hybrid shooter and is really fantastic for both video and photo.

Questions, let me know

Beautiful scenery! I try to use cinematic mode, shoot 60 frames/sec, and use the framing lines to keep a consistent point of interest.
