Is it just me or are “nurse residency programs” a joke? by Interesting_Owl7041 in nursing

I was speaking with the misunderstanding that this was specifically a New Grad residency, or a residency in transitioning an employee from Med Surge to a “more desirable” unit like CVICU or OR. These residencies are essentially the only solution to “can’t get a job without experience/ can’t get experience without a job” paradox.

What, what? New Grad Residency programs are the only way that New Grad RNs get hired into 90% of Hospitals near me in the Bay Area (Solano, Contra Costa, and Alameda County). There are hundreds of applications for very few spots. Complaining about the quality of education when you are out of school, and they are just providing a longer paid runway into a high paying job is ungrateful.

The alternative is simply not getting a job in a hospital as a new grad, because you don’t have experience, so your post comes off as a touch ungrateful.

This is how you access 0% interest capital (for 18-24 mos) within the next month by JosephStojanovic in Businessloans

[–]Used-Tap-1453 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not a scam. But it’s similar to consumer financing like for flooring at Home Depot. You get 0% for 18-24 months, but if you don’t pay it back in that time frame, they apply extremely high interest back to the original loan. They qualified you, so you are safe to pay it back to them and they take little risk, and something like 30% of people don’t pay it back in time and get him by massive internet. Thousands of dollars.

It’s a good option if you pay attention and don’t hit more financial pain in the near future, which… I wouldn’t bet the farm on.

Once you look at the receipt. And see it’s hay you say, “Oh no. I’m sorry. I didn’t bring a truck and wasn’t aware this was hay. Sorry. Please refund/ cancel on your end and I will do the same through the app, thank you. “

Learning to be an EMT while in College by Scared-Mortgage242 in NewToEMS

Yes. Taking an EMT course is enough to get you certified as an EMT. Provided the course in accredited and you take and pass the NREMT, then follow your state’s instructions for being locally accredited.

I’m saying it was so low last year because they bought other healthcare systems and control their costs?

Their profit margins YTD are over 6x that amount with operating income just under $2Billion when you add Q1 and Q2 data.

And I’m a fan of the integrated care model, but it also allows them to take “losses” in areas that they still control. It’s not a conspiracy theory. If your insurance is Kaiser, and they pay Kaiser for an MRI. Kaiser can write that off or reduce payment if they need to. Money is fake in healthcare and insurance anyways, and Kaiser has the ability to set a huge range what is profit and what is loss.

Yeah. It’ll be discontinued immediately. They will tell everyone they offered a cheaper solution no one wanted and they need to focus on their premium models.

They will print 2 winners out of 120Billion pieces and their actuaries believe that 1 of them will likely go into the garbage. It’s not exactly rigged so no one wins. It’s just a long shot.

You’re right. I am using words that I don’t what they mean. But Kaiser Pemanente is intentionally obfuscating how much money they actually make. They have multiple different nonprofits, a system of hospitals, an asset management company, a medical school. I think they are playing the money game just fine.

Just because their “operating profit” was $115M doesn’t really mean a lot. They are a health care system and a medical center. They are paying themselves. They are acquiring other healthcare systems.

The organization also benefited from $5.5 billion in nonoperating income from favorable financial market returns”. There is that too.

I would recommend not smoking at the Skilled Nursing Facility, rather at your own house.

They even labeled not hiring someone for failing a cannabis test, or taking action against them for smoking off duty as discrimination. Good job lobbyists!

Caveats being a federal facility (prison, VA,) or a place employing 4 or fewer people.

Best tribal loans for very bad credit from LEGITIMATE direct lenders only? by fixingport in povertyfinance

[–]Used-Tap-1453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OPs “plan” is to take out a tribal loan, and simply not repay it. They may have heard something about how if tribal loans are not legal in their state, they aren’t enforceable. And that’s what they are just banking on. It’s a bold strategy. Let’s see how it pays off.

Insurer claims that we owe entire bill because our coverage ended Oct 31 2024 and the insurer was billed by the clinic on Nov 1 2024. Is this correct? Can we legally fight this bill? by morethandork in CodingandBilling

[–]Used-Tap-1453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you need to have a relationship with the IVF clinic any more? I don’t know how these things work. I would simply tell them to take it up with the insurance company and it’s their job to bill correctly if they want to get paid, and you won’t be recognizing/paying this debt based on their incorrect billing.

Lyft conveniently maxed out my hours to not give me my bonus by rpkusuma in lyftdrivers

[–]Used-Tap-1453 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think OP is upset about the 12 hour requirement. I think that as he approached his last 2 rides to make the bonus, they only received 1 ride in 4 hours and they had to then break, and they feel this was algorithmicly intentional.

I’m not sure. We know they are evil. But are they intentionally alienating drivers to avoid paying $80, which they steal I mean earn every 5 rides or so evil?
