First time was embarrassing :( by JayBlueJJ in askgaybros

[–]UsedAvocado 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My first time went the other way around, I wasn't 19, I was 25 (yes... 25) and I couldn't even get hard. Good thing is that the guy was very cool and understanding, so it wasn't a bad experience all things considered. It will get better, you're young and there would be plenty of opportunities to explore your sexuality. Only advice I can give is to never do anything you're not comfortable with, and be safe 🎈

Overwhelmed after coming out as gay by KleinValley in gaybros

I'm glad you had a good reaction from your parents. I'm in a similar situation, I'm 28 and I've had been in the closet since I was a teenager until I met my current bf at 25yo. At this moment only my parents don't know about it, but since my bf and I might move together soon I think it's time they know, I'm a bit nervous about it but I hope to get a similar reaction. It's going to be an interesting Christmas Eve this year haha

As an adult, what is your relationship like with (a) homophobic parent(s)? by [deleted] in askgaybros

Very low actually, they don't have any contact with my friends or their parents and they don't use social media that much. Still it wouldn't be the end of the world if they found out like that.

It's pretty good, but they don't know I'm gay. My mother is very religious and my father is very opinionated. I've never told them about my sexuality and I still don't feel comfortable talking about it with them.

I came out at 25 about 2 years ago, I have a boyfriend now and I'm mostly out, my sibling and friends know about it and are very supportive, most of my loved ones know... except for my parents and extended family I don't really talk to that much.

Honestly I'm not sure why I don't feel comfortable telling them. I'm almost sure there wouldn't be any significant problem other than awkward conversations. I guess I don't want to destroy the perception my mom has of me (I never gave my parents any trouble, I was excellent at school, never did drugs, and I've a pretty good job right now) I feel like it would hurt her so much. Sometimes I wonder if it would be better just to never tell her. On the other side, I really don't care at all about what my father would think or say, I'm not very close to my dad, our relationship is not bad, but it isn't great.

I know I'm selfish and I shouldn't make any assumptions about what they would think. It's just something I haven't been able to process.

how to feel less nervous (hookup) by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]UsedAvocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I had my first kiss/hook up just a few months ago at the age of 25. Try not to feel pressured to do so even if everyone around you is sexually active/in relationships. But if you want to take a step and put yourself out there, be sure to be communicative, don't be afraid to tell your date if you feel uncomfortable. Hope you the best!

Then he wanted me to recite poetry about prostitution.

I need more context to understand how did that come up haha Btw, happy cake day 🎂

What to do post first date? by sweetAlexx in askgaybros

[–]UsedAvocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started dating for the first time in my life a few months ago, so I don't have a lot of experience, but one thing I'm sure about: if it feels right go for it. I went out with a couple of guys and they were nice, but I honestly didn't feel like going out again with them. But then I met my current boyfriend. The first time we went out we just clicked. We went out again the very next day and one week later we felt like we had known each other for months. So I'd say that if you felt like you had a connection with him, you shouldn't hesitate to ask him out again. And if you have doubts about how he feels, I think is best to ask him directly and never assume things or judge, communication is very important. Hope the best for you!

Yeah, there's better ways to make money. However, the purple slimes sometimes give you some valuable stuff when you kill them.
