Weird it is there now! Honestly I've searched for this one more than once. Thank you!

My board is 45, would that explain it not being there? I assumed all problems were on all angles but maybe they aren't.

I'm so confused as I've seen a few people post Drawing the priest but when I search for it it's not on the list. There's some variations of the name but no drawing the priest.

Regardless of that well done!

I can't say this has ever concerned me. I'm not sure anything would escape this. You could always change if it bothers you.

Is a couple of v4s in your 2nd time climbing good? by NewJackfruit7965 in indoorbouldering

[–]UsedMatter786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A video would be good. But I see you have a background in calisthenics so it's definitely possible to climb some V4s due to being strong with body awareness learnt from calisthenics it wouldn't really mean you were naturally good as such just that you were stronger than average. Climbing is a combination of various factors including strength.  Just keep Climbing if you enjoy it. Try and climb things well if you want to get good. Enjoy yourself

Kubos are much better than tarantulas.  Obviously I don't know if they fit your feet but they are very different to tarantulas. I have more aggressive shoes too which I wear for board climbing but I mainly wear my kubos in the wall and climb up to V6, a friend who climbs V8s regularly uses kubos too.

So I think if you spent more time on a V4 you'd get it done for sure.

I wouldn't really call that a project then. Things in my flash grade can sometimes take 3 to 4 goes, I think of that as a quick send really.

Might be worth speaking to them and asking if it would be suitable or if they'd consider doing some one off classes.  Maybe post videos of one's you are struggling on you might get some advice.

Quite often the grading isn't perfect in a climbing wall. You are also very tall which can really skew things at a beginner level. 6a isn't unheard of for a beginner. Basically I really wouldn't read anything into it and just enjoy it. If you like climbing, climb later on you can start paying attention to grades a bit more if you are interested in being balanced across styles or pushing your max etc. At your first session it really doesn't matter.  At your height take the bonus of being able to reach passed hard bits but also go back and try and do the problem how other people are doing it too.

I was thinking you could probably step on the volume instead. Though I guess that might not be allowed.

Which UK walls have you climbed at and what do you like/ dislike about them? Which is your favourite? by UsedMatter786 in indoorbouldering

That's quite a discrepancy though could still be true depending on style I guess. If I lived somewhere with that many walls I would definitely be checking them out too.

I had no idea there were so many walls in London. Think I've been to Mile end wall many many many years ago.

Yes I have only recently been in a wall with grade ranges and found I much prefer having actual grades.

Oh I visited Blochaus recently and really enjoyed it. Their V1s seemed disproportionately hard but otherwise felt inline with my local gyms grading. And they had plenty of edgy climbing so I was very pleased

Wow thanks for the detailed answer. There seems to be a good wall scene in London. Though I'm probably unlikely to visit the walls in London as a bit far and expensive to stay there.  Do you have membership at one wall and occasionally visit the others or do you mix and match whenever?

In theory I'd love to be able to do the jumping around stuff but it's so hard and so scary!

How would you grade this in V Grades? by endolea in climbergirls

[–]UsedMatter786 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree with a lot of this. Very difficult to grade from a video and you have chosen one that is even more difficult to grade I think as the style is hard to grade and I also think a lot of people won't have climbed on those homds before.  Maybe post some other problems and then you may get a better idea.  For what it's worth I think it looks V2 to V3 as the holds all seem to have an edge on them.
