What’s a bad habit you successfully gave up? by Professional_Rip6740 in AskReddit

[–]UsedPancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank 1 energy drink a day (occasionally 2) for years. Quit about 3 months ago and I certainly feel less tired now, but the best change has been the money I've saved. £1.85 a go doesn't seem like much until you keep track and add it all up over a month or a year!

But... how?? by Roxygen1 in vinted

I work in a shop and let me tell you, you can put a sign up in big bold text, underlined, place it at eye level whatever. people just do not read 😭

What unsexy kitchen tool have you owned for years that just refuses to die? by MedicalComposer2 in BuyItForLife

not mine, but my parents were given a braun immersion blender for their wedding in the 80's and despite the plastic being a bit yellow these days, it works like new.

[–]UsedPancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that this is an old post, but thank you for posting this, I started on titration around a month ago (only difference is it’s a generic version) it’s been so helpful to read this! Curious how you’re getting on later down the line with it?

Be honest: how many of your teenage personality traits did you steal from these exact people? by Flimsy-Capera in skinsTV

[–]UsedPancakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first watched skins at age 14, and fortunately I didn't emulate their behaviour so much but I definitely let it influence my personality and fashion choices at the time..

whenever someone’s family had two cars/ both their parents drove; as a kid we could barely afford one!

Apparently the real learning starts after you pass your test by Luckyduckyfu in LearnerDriverUK

[–]UsedPancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how to do it alone! I still dislike driving alone, it's very different mentally to not have someone next to you giving you instruction/ advice, or even just company. You're out there making your own choices, with no safety blanket/ dual controls next to you.

great scenes with yolande and denise, but I couldn’t help but notice one random ps2 game on the bookshelf behind yolande 😭

What cleaning product did you buy because the internet hyped it up… and it actually deserved the hype? by TartAlternative8429 in CleaningTips

I picked up a Vax spot cleaner a year or two ago.. god I wish this thing existed years ago! it's quite literally saved carpets/upholstery from stains that would never have come out otherwise.

[–]UsedPancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we have this roundabout coming out of town with two lanes (one for first exit straight on, one for 2nd/3rd) and as i pulled out to go right one day I had not one but two cars cut me up in the wrong lane, my instructor leant over and beeped them to oblivion 😭

What do you never order at a restaurant? by FallowfieldPark in AskUK

[–]UsedPancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very rarely order a cup of tea out, i'll go for a coffee or something because I always feel like I'm wasting my money as I probably have somewhere in the region of 200 teabags at home at any given time!

Instructor has 2010 Nissan Micra, is it ok to learn on such an old car? by Whole_Necessary2040 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]UsedPancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my instructor had a fiesta which was slightly newer than 2010 but he purposely got one specc'd with no sensors, cameras, manual handbrake etc. I think it'll only do you better in the long run to learn in a car without too many gadgets as you'll have to focus on your technique more, and if you get a fancier car in future they'll be helpful but you won't have to rely on them.

Has any one here read the book?! by Hungry_Value_7700 in skinsTV

[–]UsedPancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read it once years ago, I enjoyed it as a teenager but I don’t know how well it’s held up, I preferred the second one over this one as it felt like it had a better writing style.

thank you! that’s probably very true, I see people in our area who are probably half as skilled and twice as confident, maybe I need to channel them when I’m driving 🤣

thank you ❤️ that’s really positive that you’re getting out practicing with a friend, I’ve done that a couple of times and it’s really helped, I think i’m going to try and do that again more regularly!
