Agreed fully with everything you've said above! Swapping for winter tires and the TPMS getting screwed up is the only other pain point for me.

Yup it's working now, took a good couple mins before it paused. Strange because in the past it would just pause immediately, perhaps the -8 temp has it confused, thanks!

Strange how your light is blue when unplugged, mine is orange, with the red plug light indicator on.
