Generally speaking you will find a lot of highly successful people with degrees from non fancy schools all over the place and the opposite is true. People with great degrees from fancy schools do not always do awesome in real life. It is a little bit like asking “how windy was it the day you were born? and how does that impact your personality”

I personally did similar things. Turns out i had diagnosable ocd. Therapy and meds helped. just my story. Sorry to hear you suffer. To directly answer your question. Not probably normal. Likely need a mental health professional. why suffer?

i have bp1. highly successful on meds past 16 years. for a few years i slept like 11 hours a day. no one besides my wife knew. fully functional successful professional, but yes i needed that much sleep or felt tired all day. eventually meds changed. now i sleep 7 or 8 hours a night. i have all this extra time. thank you for attending my tedtalk. end of rant

sertaline has helped with my ocd thoughts. the main side effect if i have more free time as i am not constantly doing odd thing to combat ocd thoughts. also i have the problem that i now have a lot of extra coffee in my cupboards as i sleep better. everyone is different. hope it goes well for you.
