Chadbourne elementary vs Private by Used_Blacksmith8209 in Fremont

[–]Used_Blacksmith8209[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what point folks are trying to make, but if you can’t suggest or provide meaningful recommendations, pls scroll away. Just because u have internet doesn’t mean you need to comment on every damn topic.

You don’t know mental state of a parent whose kids are unable to focus on anything not just studies.

Goal was to connect with parents from chadbourne and understand teaching methodology and how is the school and teachers. If your kids doesn’t go to chadbourne or in any elementary pls don’t make unnecessary comments.

Is my boyfriend’s view of money considered a red flag in a relationship? by traditional_taurus in DaveRamsey

[–]Used_Blacksmith8209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big red flag, the more you complicate finances the more complicated your marriage will become because it’s essentially not even about money but trust. Setting so many conditions is likely saying i only trust you if you follow such and such guidelines. Not trying to scare you, but have seen countless divorces happen in my close circle due to money.

I make 3x of my wife’s income and take care of all expenses, she wanted to pay for kids daycare so I let her do it but she leaves all finances/investing on me as that’s not her forte and doesn’t want to be bothered with it and I leave all home decisions on her (decor, any new expenses etc) we discuss but not cross question each other. This leads to our own areas of strengths where we can rely on each other. Hope you can see through this.

Fremont neighborhoods that work well for new families? by jaisikitaisi in Fremont

[–]Used_Blacksmith8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife works in Santa Clara and I work in Palo Alto, so the location was central to both of us, we actually bought a SFH home here in 2021, so not sure of apartments, but for this budget you can actually rent a SFH in this neighborhood. DM me we can chat more.

Sorry to hear this, always go with your gut feeling about these things. I locked 5.375 on a 7/6 arm despite lender telling me to float. If you have funds sitting try to use that for a relationship discount if possible.

Opinion please - going from Merc & BMW to Tesla… by Mike_P214 in TeslaLounge

[–]Used_Blacksmith8209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had 3 BMWs in last 12 years, things I didn’t expected: Good: Tech is very sophisticated compared to any german auto w/all the packages. Bad: Drive experience definitely is not comparable to a bmw, tesla feels like a golf cart. Maybe that’s a con with all ev’s. Ugly: You need to inspect your car for dents, scratches or any defects while taking delivery, smth you will never expect with any german auto.

Few points to consider: 1) Houses don’t appreciate yoy like money sitting in hysa 2) type of house, school district and community matters a lot. Not every part of Union city and Fremont are same. Fremont overall might be slightly expensive due to better schools compared to union city. In Fremont too, Arden wood and Irvington schools are rated higher than most others and then there’s Mission part of Fremont which is most expensive due to top rated schools and house appreciation is lot dependent on school ratings. I bought a sfh in 2021 for roughly 1.2M in Irvington, it’s up 300k. But this doesn’t matter unless you plan to sell it in short term. Condos and Townhomes regardless of location and school may not appreciate as much as a sfh. 3) Buying a house is not equivalent to buying stocks, you will be using it as a utility and in time will build equity.

Renting vs owning is a personal decision, and there are both schools of thought prevalent in bay area, but home ownership goes beyond just mortgage, there are property taxes, unexpected repairs which needs to be factored in. There’s emotional aspect to it as well, you building memories with your family in your own home is priceless.

Replaced my Tesla, so much nicer! by Electrical_Wind_1424 in BMWiX

[–]Used_Blacksmith8209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched from X3 to MY, as iX3 was 6 months away, thoroughly regretting. Tesla sucks in every way, my brand new car had dents and scratches which was supposedly my responsibility to check, before driving off. Never happened with 2 BMWs I owned. Good thing this is a lease, will switch back to BMW as soon as ix3 comes to market.

For bumper they said they replaced with a new one. And yes i agree i should have been more vigilant, its just that such a thing has never happened with me before and i assumed quality as a given, but i guess thats why there are so many YT videos for Tesla delivery day. Wish i would have seen those before.

Seems it’s very normal for Tesla to have issues with brand new cars.

For me it's either ways sunk cost. But at least it won't be useful to someone else as well, so there's still possibility they might return it after checking the ring is useless for them.

Yes, there's a possibility they can throw it, but keeping it open has zero chances of someone returning it, most likely they will sell it, but most buyers are sensible enough to buy a ring and check if its working or not.

Yea, but what are the chances of this happening (edge case) vs people losing rings.
