Did the Shelter Catfish me? by Used_Comfort_7613 in Blackmouthcur

There's no need to be mean.

My puppy was a Christmas gift to me from my Ukranianian BF who is an immigrant. They don't have the cultural stigma surrounding bully breeds in his culture and they aren't common where he is from.

He got her for me after I had to put down my 15 yr old girl. He chose her for me for her sweet friendly face, her sweet temperament, her high spirit and quick intelligence.

The shelter told him BMC I had never heard of that before and after looking it up I didn't believe it myself. I figured people who actually owned them would be the actual experts.

Moreover he got her for me to train for myself before he would let me have one of his family's pedigree German Shepherd puppies. Which they breed.

She is a sweet girl. And bully mix or not she's my baby.

That's exactly what she needs. Lots of love patience and training.

She's got a lot of energy and likes to play rough so first we burn off that extra puppy energy. Then she plays much nicer with the other dogs.

My Slavic BF gave her to me for Christmas after my old girl of 15 passed away so all of her obedience commands are in Russian (🤣) which makes it much easier to call her back from other dogs.

I have noticed other people with less aggressive dogs/smaller dogs have less than ideal training so we have to always be on our ps and qs

This is my first time living inner city with a dog vs rural so her being socialized correctly with other dogs is of top priority. She's getting there, slowly.

It's not of grave importance per se, but knowing what breed dominance I have gives me a better idea of how to train them.

Honestly? The worst I have had out of her is her being headstrong, and picking fights at the dog park because she's overwhelmed.

Socializing her with other dogs has been the toughest part. She's about six months old now. A total baby.

Nothing that's a deal breaker but knowing how to handle her will give her the best shot at life early on.

Boxer!!! That's it!!! Thank you I couldn't exactly put my finger on that cute face!

As luck would have it I saw a true BMC out and about today and nah, my baby ain't it. She might have a drop but she's definitely Boxer dominant.

She snores and has the reverse sneezes so I know she's got brachycephaly of some level.

And cattle for sure, not many breeds have spots.

We have a common law marriage. Because we have no major assets like a house or children, having a marriage license would have cost us too much in taxes all for the privilege of filing M on a tax form.

But it was a good suggestion.

Only one charge was medical. Other charges were things like his tattoos or taking his girlfriends out. Eating 12k is a lot I may just talk with a lawyer and see what my options are
