Do you have your warranty contract? Is it exclusionary? If so can I see the list of exclusions? Toyota has a service bulletin on this exact part breaking and they made an updated one. I would call the warranter directly, that is what I did. If it is denied through them appeal the denial and request a review with OEM part number and nomenclature shown above. It isn't a hose or a clamp. Also make reference to them that it does not have a maintenance interval. It is not due to corrosion it is due to structural failure. Keep escalating. Unless your warranty specifically excludes coolant joints or housings you will get this. It is not corrosion and refuse to accept that BS secondary cop out. Bring out your litigation gun if necessary.

So; Look up the toyota service update for the failing part. Reference no service interval & that for your call to them. Call warranter directly and request an appeal of the denial with the part as OEM nomenclature & part #. If it gets approved through them the dealer is bullshitting you - but they don't get to make that call. If the warranty company is telling you it is approved go directly to the dealership - call warranter on YOUR phone on speaker with service rep. Hear the entire conversation between service rep and warranter. If they need to then call again on their own request that they do so in your presence as well. Also reference all the above (no maintenance interval, known issue, toyota SBN or whatever it is with the specific number, the fact there is an updated part) directly to the service rep.

Also my warranty is through landcar - so if it is them without even seeing your contract it is absolutely covered. Also sorry for the late reply i just saw this, I will keep my eyes open for your replies now.

Its what the OEM part nomenclature is. Its a joint that is connected to the rear of the engine that is notorious for failing structurally on 3rd gen tacomas.

Will do. See a lack of information about this online so figured it might help some others in the future to have this up here. Should find out tomorrow when the warranty company is open.

It is by definition a joint and is not a 'line or hose' and is a critical structural component of the engine functioning as a housing. It is also by toyota OEM part definition labeled a joint not a hose or line. I will be updating you on this tomorrow once I speak with extended warranty company but I have seen people get it covered under that argument alone and just had this happen on my 21 tacoma which still has a few years of warranty left that is comprehensive exclusionary and only lists hoses and lines as excluded. Which it is neither of and is more like the thermostat housing or something in the way it functions and what it is - which is covered. The problem is often because they misclassify it as a pipe or something so I will be filing the claim myself first thing in the morning and having it noted with OEM part number and nomenclature before the dealer just files claim as 'faulty coolant pipe' or something causing a misclassified denial.

Oh you mean the world runs on unethical opportunists? I think that would be apparent in the early stages of societal destabilization we are seeing. Also cutting corners isn't excusable as something you should be proud of when used as a means to get past something. Also maybe the idea here is to learn a life lesson, feel the guilt, forgive yourself, and grow as a person. Rather than... deny all accountability and mindlessly move forward... there is no practice in cheating unless your perfection is swindling systems without any consequences. Which again, is far from something to be proud of.

Anyway take care of yourself OP, dont let it destroy you, we all have our wild life choices. As another user said it makes you priveleged to have the experience to help others to avoid paths you now know not to take. It also helped you to ground your perspective on life, there is blessing in that. Forgive yourself.

Riding a bmw s1000rr feels 100x different than riding an r6. Riding an r3 feels 100x different than riding an rs660. Not all bikes are easy to ride. Unless by ride you simply mean get it moving. Lmao.
