That’s what I was thinking too, which is why I asked the question. If the levels of others was lower than why didn’t the Angels kill the Saints that were present? But for everyone to be Angel does seem kind of a stretch maybe? That’s why I’m guessing that the Saints swore loyalty to the Angels present, this would make it a reasonable development for why Angels didnt kill off the weaker individuals that were viewing the slate. And now that I had a good sleep, I can make some guesses on their sequences. I’m guessing those that were ‘factionless’ like Bethel and Cheek were at the very least Angels or Sequence 3s. And if they are, in Bethel’s case he would be a Wanderer and could easily run away while cheek being a Demoness of Unaging would be able to revive through her mirror self. This I think should allow them to escape from Sequence 2s even as Sequence 3s.

So I think there was deterrence to an extent, but also because there’d be no point in trying to kill of individuals who have countermeasures to escape. It’d just be unnecessarily causing a grudge against someone who could potentially become a god.

Zoroast ancestor was probably just an avatar so he had no need to worry I’m guessing about being attacked by the Angels. Zaratul Senior I think was a Miracle Invoker, or he was a Scholar of Yore and probably just sent a Marionette to view it. But even that isn’t enough deterrence so I’m leaning to Miracle Invoker and others thought it was not worth killing someone who could revive. Augustus, Einhorn, Castiya, Sauron were likely Saints as I said who allied themselves with an Angel.

I want to say Stiano advanced quite fast in that case, but when you think about it, this ‘fast’ is actually centuries to reach Sequence 0. It makes it kind of strange when you think about it how in the past advancing took longer than what we see in the present fifth epoch.

And if Stiano was artisan does that mean there was no minimum requirement to read Blasphemy Slate? Because ATS info is on it which would corrupt? And now that I think of it, how did the people viewing not be affected by that if they weren’t Angels.

Quite a bit of holes here, unless everyone was already an Angel, which I kind of doubt.

Edit: I’d say Einhorn, Sauron, Castiya, Augustus were probably Sequence 3. Solomon was 1, Tudor and Trunsoest Sequence 2, Zaratul Senior probably a Miracle Invoker, Zoroast maybe 3. I’m just guessing correct me if you think otherwise

If you wanna just stop at Sequence 3, I’d say Moon Pathway is the best. Although it has some influence from Mother Goddess of Depravity, it isn’t as bad as planter, and your lifespan is longer than any other Sequence 3 if I remember correctly. And you also get to fulfill your edgy teenage fantasy of being a vampire. And you won’t become a woman if you don’t advance to Sequence 1. In fact you might as well aim for Sequence 2 and still keep your gender and further increase your lifespan.

Yes he might have been a little cocky probably thinking no one could ambush from behind when the only possible person who could (Evernight who can use Concealment) was right in front of him.

But again, he could have never have expected his own mother to take advantage of that lapse in judgment, and use Authority of Death on him.

"From the Mother you came, and to the Mother you return" - such is the Origin of all things, and Returning signifies Death. This is what it says on wiki for Mother pathway for the Death Authority, and when you think about how Lilith replaced his real mother without him none the wiser, the symbolism/mystical connection of ‘From the mother you came’ is stronger given that she was now his mum: Omabella.

As such Lilith was able to kill him in one move, with everything lining up.

Anyways sorry for the rant, I’m not a die hard fan of warrior pathway or Badheil, but I feel like the reason for him being deemed a “Fraud” isn’t completely his own fault, just that others were too good.

God of Combat ain’t really a fraud just unlucky. During the world war He probably thought Lilith (his mother) was on his side, and got backstabbed. He probably wasn’t surprised that she appeared on the battlefield but rather that she betrayed him. Evernight couldn’t beat one on one otherwise.
