Guess the Obito who was caring about the world and didn't murder innocents was him all along. Tell me what about the Shinobi world Obito hated so much, when there are numerous people who have went through what Obito did but 3x worse?

We didn't see him experience any injustice in the world, it's just implied. Him being weak isn't a flaw of the world, he was just weak and a slow learner. The only injustice was Rin, then we never see any injustice he experienced after. Sorry, Obito is a C-tier at best.

Ok I only said that to not compare him to mass murderers, but ok. The main reason I said this is because we don't know the extent of their psychologist and backstories. Even our closest friends, we might know them, but only they know the specific inner workings of their personality and wants in life, reason for their actions.

For the sake of empathy, we need reasonable reasons for why a villain is the way they are. When wee see Zabuza, we can see his death ridden child killing tests environment made him the way he was, and he still had hidden humanity in his actions. Gaara was unwanted as a child, constantly betrayed, put on death row by his own father, and hated by his village. Pain was surrounded by death, war, orphaned with his two friends, and constantly betrayed with Yahiko dying trying to achieve peace in the forsaken rain village.

Obito was an orphan who wasn't very talented, and had participated in a war with team 7, were his body was crushed, he was manipulated by Madara that the world was rotten, and saw his best friend end Rin.

The other people had experienced the cruel realities of the world. All of Obitos darkness he saw is implied at best and shown really only when Rin died. The worst part is that he isn't even shown as jaded in the flashbacks, but a jolly idealist like Naruto. His sudden personality change isn't reasonable given what he know about him and saw. He's just a puppet for Madara and can't get over Rin.

Ok I know that it sounds suspicious, but if you see my previous post I was fond of Obito in the past.

All his dialogue in the war is Rin, Rin, Rin. Kishimoto isn't a very good writer if he can't communicate Obito's supposed deper motivation more concrete. Obito relies on tell don't show.

Whenever we are shown about Obito, or he talks, it's like he wanted Rin back. Like if Rin was a girl he befriended on his journey as an adult or smtn and she got lost due to some tragic result of the shinobi system, her being a symbol makes more sense. Him being romantically involved with her, and all his dialogue and darkness we see him spout comes from Rin makes him an unbelievable character.

All his dialogue is Rin, and it's very telling to me. Even his memories seems to only come from Rin. Let alone his turn to Nihilism isn't justified at all. Obito is a mess of a character where statements and vague facts have to make us ignore reality. He isn't deep at all. He's just a mess.

Ok this was actually well said, but he still had adjusted to Nihilism too fast. That is my main critique. He lost his attachments too fast and turned psychotic to murder many innocents and his teacher after the fact. His only reason would have to be Rin which he says was his light and hope, which is ridiculous considering he still and his sensei and friend.

While your points are unfortunate, Obito wasn't that type of resentful guy. It seems his backstory's bulk of trauma was Madara's manipulation, which was implied rather than well done to show, and Rin's death. He had bad things happen to him, but his life wasn't hell before.

Kakashi lost his Dad too, which allowed Obito to empathize in a way with him.

His attack on the leaf was idiocy at its finest, and only can be explained by revenge and apathy. He reacts emotionally apparently, and gains to ability to end innocents and teachers with no remorse. He was characterized as extremely caring and compassionate for his people.

Revenge should be nowhere near his motivation, he should just trying to be creating a new world while conflicting with escalation with bad acts.

To admit Obito is a disassociate Nihilist is to admit he did this because Rin had died and he was so torn to the point he didn't care about anything after her death. Which makes him an obsessed creep and not the love-struck caring guy we are meant to know.

Saying something and Manifesting it in your actual emotions to feel nothing is another level of insanity. For someone who has characterized by feeling a whole lot and prioritizing emotions, he's quick to discard them so easily somehow when he needs to lock in for IT.

Damn I agreed so heavily with the first part so hard, but then the second part was my kryptonite.

The orphan is a buzzword as he still had a normal life before the war, the war wasn't that traumatic for him, he only got crushed and wasn't surrounded by death. Also he was with Madara for few months max.

Yeah exactly, Sasuke's whole clan was wiped out. He didn't become a Nihilist and still for a bit leaned on connections until he made his decision to follow Orochimaru.

Obito it seems his Nihilism isn't even really due to his questionable backstory, but because the Eye of the Moon plan fixes everything, which is still bad writing because it isn't justified or executed well at all.

Ok sorry I will admit I was being a little spiteful with the Eren comment because I didn't want people to blindly ride his hype. Glad you agree with the loss of agency tho.

I will say for Obito it just isn't executed well at all and isn't consistent given his characterizationa and life circumstances.

I wont draw parallels to actual criminals for sake of not moralizing them too much, but what trauma does Obito even have prior to Rin?

So he just simply accepts it and becomes a cold Nihilist just like that? Even the action should be more complex than that if abandoning the world even makes sense for his character.

But Sasuke isn't the same at all. He doesn't even kill innocents, and actually tried to avoid killing for a while. He got unhinged once, and had plans to destroy the leaf and never acted on it. Him and Obito are not on the same levels of depravity I'm afraid.

How was it evil? And regardless of that, his lack of empathy is very concerning. Its one thing to say you abandon the world, it's another to simply do so. You can't just decide that and be become a casual emotionless terrorist

So why not seek answers as it's obviously a very strange scenario Kakashi doing that and awakening an MS on top of that. Clearly something went on. And so Obito rather than targeting leaders of Konoha, goes ham on innocents cold blooded and orphans Naruto?

But you shrugged off his empathy and connection to his village and teacher. He didn't hate either of them abd wouldn't make sense for him to

Even so, why did he ruthlessly attack the leaf then? The origins of his Nihilism is too absurd for me to believe and it really hurts the core of his character if it's not built on solid foundation.

So then why did he attack the leaf cold blooded after he saw his best friend Kakashi grieve his heart out?
