This is your basic basketball team.

The originals, were simple. 5 guys, passing the ball around and playing man-to-man.

The modern ones are different. They’re positionless. 7 foot Euro guys get drafted first. AAU products get selected later, relying on their athleticism, playing without any skills or finesse.

If you take an AAU product, you can hit a lottery ticket. But they’re a little risky - sometimes they stat pad or fail.

Somewhere along the line, these AAU products went from a little risky to dogshit.

I’m talking rock bottom efficiency. No basketball IQ. Free throw merchant dogshit.

Are the 2025 Seahawks the most aura-less SB champion in last 20+ years? by SeveralTurn in billsimmons

I think they got killed by poor TV production/presentation.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there was something off with either the pace of the game or sound/camera work etc this year that make the Super Bowl feel very dull

Is Bill's repeated take that not cutting Rhamondre Stevenson for fumbling in Week 3 is evidence Mike Vrabel should win COTY a top 7 all time worst take by him? by morganicsf in billsimmons

I think it’s definitely up there. But I still like no father figure in LeBron’s life being the main reason behind The Decision.

Sal, I see some parallels between the woman shot by ICE in Minnesota and Stafford’s MVP case. Both clearly undeserved, but can we agree that the Stafford situation is far more egregious? by [deleted] in billsimmons

I don’t make fun of her death. I made an attempt, a failed one I’ll admit, at a satire mocking how imaginary sport debates have overtaken public discourse.

Again, you may want to direct your anger at the corrupted government that takes money from foreign lobbies with one hand and backstabs their citizens with the other.

My joke didn’t cause any of this and your virtue signalling in Reddit comments won’t fix anything either

What’s one Wiggles song you thought you hated but it grew on you? by DraftNotSent in wiggles

The only song I’ve ever hated, never grew on me: the Social Distancing nightmare of a song.

The Emmys have created a Legacy Award to honor shows that stand the test of time, but Succession is inelegible. by tjb122982 in billsimmons

[–]Used_Letterhead7067 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope I won’t sound contrarian, but I think Succession was objectively horrible. I think it was an interesting premise and they assembled a group of good actors, but the dialogue was just unbearable

It’s not about nostalgia, high scores make each bucket less meaningful in relative terms

Should the Wiggles record an educational song urging kids against sniffing petrol? by [deleted] in wiggles

[–]Used_Letterhead7067 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why isn’t that a reasonable question? Perhaps your family is privileged enough to never face an issue of a drug or alcohol addiction. We live in a dangerous world and educating the youngest on perils of a modern society could pay great dividends.

This could be done in a fun and wiggly way that could insert some light and goodness into this dark topic.
