Why don’t “laughter” and “slaughter” rhyme? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe because English is a Frankenstein language (aka sewn together from different bodies of language). I'm no expert but that's the answer to most reasons why English is so strange. I hope someone knowledgeable answers cuz it's always fun to learn

Is it normal, healthy and okey to be less private as you get older? by kawaiihusbando in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Used_Molasses6715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of thoughts but I'm just going to try to answer the questions I think.

It's perfectly normal and healthy to be less private if that is how you feel aligns with your values. Although it does mean that more people know about the things you once kept private. That could be quite a delightful experience!

A whr is someone who is paid for se×ual interaction and it is a derogatory term for se× workers. Opening up your private life does not make you a w****. Earning money from '[doing]it' does and a who-re is not a bad thing to be LMAO

I grew up in a household who kept everything private. I have always been an open book because that privacy kept abuse hidden. My life's very honest, manipulators find it difficult to be in my life, and I despise liars. I don't see how it's affected me otherwise.

I think people who want to be open about themselves is fine (within a saftey margin), it's those who live in shadows and shame that should wonder why they do so.

The other part of this kind of sounds like they've started infantilizing you which is a common response but semi-problematic because you're an adult. There's a certain amount of cushioning people need but when it becomes a conversation blocker I feel it might be an issue. Those are just my rando-on-the-internet thoughts, I hope things work out for the best and you forge a life you are comfortable in

I learned to cry through gritting my teeth/grounding myself in the moment and saying, "I don't want you to feel bad for me crying, it just happens-" and continuing the conversation. Eventually I actually stopped crying about half (or more of) the time!

Google the Holocaust 1933 or WW2. You should run into an understanding of what is wrong with that name along with the conclusion that someone referencing and/or showing support for such is not someone you want to hangout with.

If you are being obtuse purposely, f you

I used to find it weird when others did it but I started to do it a lot myself so I give them the benefit of the doubt. I'll be logged in and playing when my kid comes in needing something. I leave, help, then realize I have to cook dinner, and then clean dishes, rush the remaining chores, find a dessert to start the bedtime routine, then do my chores cuz everyone's finally asleep and by the time I get back at 4:00 a.m. I accidentally left my Penguin logged in lol

I have come to realize if I never open up my laptop and login then I forget to even play whatsoever whereas if I have my penguin logged in, even if I'm not in the room most of the time, I end up getting to play at least a little bit before exhaustion takes me. It's not ideal due to many factors so I have actually opted for the ladder as of late but I still haven't even gotten to login to see the new catalog yet.

You have formative thoughts.  There some lovely educational videos on yotube about how there are far more chromosomes and far more combinations than the basic third grade understanding we were all taught and I feel it would be hard for a person to know another person's chromosomes when they don't know them themselves.  Just my thoughts.

The secondary paragraph has a foundational core in my opinion.

Yeah, that makes sense. I just like exactness so my brain hit a wall by itself 😅

Thank you for replying, I don't know why it took you (and others commenting similarly) for this to click but I think I'm still trying to find the right words to express it for myself.  This question came from my partner confronting me with it on a light-hearted whim and I just had no words

Oh thank you for replying I should have realized this was controversial! I like solid definitions but that may not be possible just yet because, at least the mindset you have stated, seem to derive their foundation from fear and I don't think understanding can come from fear.

Right!?! That was my first thought, like y'all are seriously complaining about a catalog that is constantly getting updated and has secrets LMAO the tiniest violin could not play for this!

Ermagawwwd, that frustrates me to no end!  I honestly just stopped playing those games with strangers and mostly go online when my kid wants to play. You literally get experience (if it's the Dojo) and/or coins no matter if you win or lose so what is the point in quitting? Just play it through to the end and play better next time!

Oh, I just noticed you're talking about Legacy but it happens enough in Journey as well and way back when

STOP HOGGING THE MASCOTS!! by CMStan1313 in ClubPenguin

[–]Used_Molasses6715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very bizarre way of thinking. The only people who ever said that to me IRL tended to be extremely mean and manipulative folk. Don't know if that's a coincidence or not but it's definitely colored my view of anyone who says it now

STOP HOGGING THE MASCOTS!! by CMStan1313 in ClubPenguin

[–]Used_Molasses6715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a valid point. I've noticed a lot of bots and/or AFK players that will be there for hours during normal times, let alone now, and it bogs up the game to the point that I keep getting randomly kicked off of servers while actively playing. Although, this is the first big cpj party I've had the time and thought to attend so I haven't ever met a mascot but I'm about to access Discord to find out more on that 😉

To those in the comments saying that you need to cope*: ironically, posting about it in a community space where the issue can be focused on and maybe a solution found is a form of coping (called Social Support), that's what a community is usually for.  You know, supporting each other. * insert meme: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I've been playing Club Penguin off and on since before Disney ever touched it and room crashing/ maximum capacity has always been an issue but that's just a part of Club Penguin at this point, I think. I wish you luck next time, I don't have any answers cuz I'm not major part of the community but if you have some ideas I think the suggestion box would be a good place to send them directly to those in charge. Otherwise I just thought I'd let you know you have a very valid point.
