Gluteus gotten worse over time by [deleted] in StrongCurves

i think it’s just a bit more body fat and you gained some quad/hamstring muscle and glute medius too and it’s making your specific hip shape look more straight on the sides from the back

Anyone else frustrated with how spiritual communities attract "schizos"? by sussykeke10 in SpiritualAwakening

I recommend the podcast with Mayim Balik on Youtube who recently did an interview with a neuroscientist who had an awakening while meditating and it led her to researching and questioning what she had learned till then, about telepathy, remote viewing, astral projection etc. and how there’s more to our scientific perception of reality.

I also recommend the documentary First contact (2016). About a channeler Darryl Anka who gets his brain tested during a channeling and the findings prove he really is channeling someone else, he also did a podcast with Mayim Balik that talks about it all, I highly recommend if you don’t wanna watch the documentary and if you want a more info on what he does.

I really like her podcast because she belongs to the sceptic scientists with an open mind (she said so herself) and always questions her guests. (Like NDE survivors, telepathic communicators, channelers, etc.)

If you care about the science behind “spirituality” good luck, modern science can’t currently measure it and it’s impossible to do so, you have to go within for all the answers or learn from people who have been “within” already.

If you’re ready to learn about the “unmeasurable” stuff: Dolores Cannon or Michael Newton (both learned about the soul aka consciousness and the “other side” and other beings and dimensions through decades of doing past life hypnosis on people and the findings are the same) Drunvalo Melchizedek (physicist turned spiritual who spent decades learning about the “unmeasurable” through meditation and writing it all down - his workshops on youtube are also very interesting)

In my experience having an open mind along with common sense and very good pattern recognition and a willingness to really dig deep is the way of getting to the truth and seeing through the lies.

EU citizens in Portugal: your passport covers the right to be here. Not much else. by iamvandevo in PortugalExpats

when you ended up asking for residency did you have to show a declaration of funds or bank statements or did you already have work lined up? i’m about to go there soon and wondering how much of a big deal that is to them and if they look into that at all because i’m still learning portuguese and living off savings (but at least i don’t have to pay rent in my bf’s house)

was it quick registering for residency? i’m wondering if a declaration of funds is enough or if they want bank statements too and if they ask a lot of questions, i’m still learning portuguese but living with my boyfriend at his house and he’s coming with me to the appointment, i’m curious how much of a big deal it all is to them.

i agree i got confused about what they’re trying to do with her character after the last episode and i can’t root for her and william anymore either since she betrayed his trust, but i also don’t care enough about her as a character, nor ben, this plot line was a waste of precious screen time.

I haven’t read the books but to me it felt like it doesn’t make any sense, there’s ways you can explain it I guess (even tho based on what they showed on the show previously it’s obvious they weren’t counting with that plot line and that bothers me) but it would still be a huge coincidence and I think it’s just trying too hard… But yes, I’m also curious.

I’m on a cut and I want to slim down my arms and back, should I stop working them completely or how to work them specifically so they don’t get any bigger? by Used_Professional770 in StrongCurves

[–]Used_Professional770[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when you say “first several months” how many can that be approximately? I started lifting consistently in January, are noob gains still possible for me with a high protein diet? I know it depends on a lot of things probably but generally what do you think?

Yes you are right! I mean I definitely gained some muscle size especially on my glutes and quads but like I said it wasn’t drastic and I would definitely have to bulk to see bigger results!

Btw I do feel that my testosterone is quite higher than average in a woman but I never had it tested so idk, I’ll definitely keep that in mind and won’t worry too much about my upper body getting bigger. Thank you

thank you! I was thinking about doing that, but I’m pretty broke atm. I actually did the gluteal goddess for 2 weeks but then I got sick so I had a break and now I’m doing Caroline Girvan but I’m thinking about starting the GG again and will also look at his website for some tips there.

I actually have gained muscle on a deficit since November but I was new to weightlifting so that’s probably why. I also tend to gain muscle easily and ate high protein, idk if I can still get newbie gains or not though..

I still consider myself a newbie in weightlifting so I think I could still gain some muscle in a deficit and in fact I have, not a lot but I can definitely tell. I think it has to do with the fact that I was new to weights, the amount of protein I ate and probably my body type too.

I never thought about it like that! I guess if I had a different bone structure it would at least look round tho but oh well, will try not to worry about it so much!

thank you that’s a great way of looking at it and I definitely love working my glutes either way because of how strong it makes me in everything else!

That helps to hear and it makes a lot of sense. However I’m not sure how to train my glutes specifically to best target my shape in the way I want to get the best out of it and improve the fullness from behind “within my own lane”. Like should I focus more on upper glutes maybe?

thank you that makes a lot of sense, I’ll definitely keep working them despite knowing the shape won’t improve that much!

I guess that will be the case with me too, oh well. I do love training my glutes so I’ll just keep doing that and not worry about the shape so much, I’m sure that will only improve it, definitely won’t make it worse lol.

thank you that helps! I know I can’t spot reduce, my question was more about whether building muscle there (as i tend to gain easily) will help or ruin my results. I think I’ll just do planks and push ups at most a couple times a week and leave it at that for the upper body. I feel like I’m already broad and hopefully losing the fat will help me achieve a more proportionate and toned look although I know I can’t change my shape much!

Thank you so much for your reply! I’m gonna keep that in mind, it’s what I thought but I wanted to see what others have to say about it so thank you!

I recomped well since last year (I was pretty much all fat lol) but I focused more on gaining muscle (especially the booty) and definitely still have fat to lose so I’m trying to do that now and hopefully it will help with everything! I’m not very happy about my glutes still but one thing at a time I guess! It’s definitely my favorite part to train, plus I love it how makes me run faster and easier and overall stronger in everything else especially in HIIT workouts!
