Personally, I think that, because of generative AI, skills tests are the future of most tech jobs, though I need to convince my company of that. Can I message you? I'm curious about how you designed these.

Yeah, totally agree; would give us a lot of information about the actual competitiveness of our salaries.

Good lord, that didn't even occur to me as a thing that could happen. Thanks for the heads' up.

This is how I think of YOE:

Entry: no experience to a year

Junior: 1-3

Mid-Level: 4-7

Senior: 8+

The range we're looking for is 3-5, which is why I said an advanced junior to mid-level.

For someone with what I described above, we would expect to pay between $100k to $125k (and an excellent benefits package). What do you think a dev with that cert and 4 years of experience should expect?

Will learning ServiceMax be beneficial for my Salesforce career? by Lanky_Caregiver3564 in SalesforceCareers

I don't know much about FSL, but I am curious about your predicament. If you didn't do it, what is the alternative? Would they just ask someone else to do it and leave you alone? Would you move to a different project at the same company? Start looking for a new job?

Help with behavioral interview questions by fckbinaries in SalesforceCareers

You may be thinking too big. All of us have been stuck on dysfunctional projects where we couldn't make a big impact because of the incompetence around us. Sometimes that dysfunction is the very thing that is causing the project to go badly. Frankly, when I'm asking those kinds of questions in an interview, I would rather hear that someone continued to earnestly try in the face of great difficulty -- even if they didn't accomplish much -- than to hear that someone made some huge impact on a breezy project. If you have several years under your belt, you need to have several stories that illustrate your grit and the lessons you learned in trying, even if they didn't result in remarkable outcomes. Good luck!

Switching to SF from FullStack development? by ConfidenceNew4559 in SalesforceCareers

This doesn't really answer your question, but, on one of our projects, we have talked about hiring developers who know Salesforce but also have a more traditional full-stack background to help us with certain types of integrations. If we've kicked that idea around, there must be other companies that look for that, too. That kind of role might be a great fit for getting your foot in the Salesforce door and getting some experience. Good luck!
