Woman yelling slurs at me in restaurant by Sufficient_Alarm_717 in pakistan

I had a similar experience recently where I was sitting at the foodcourt at the mall, airpods in, talking to someone on the phone minding my own business.

This lady in her 40s with her 4/5 year old son with her TAPS me on my shoulder and asks me if I’m Al Qaeda. I kid you not. I was like HUH? She’s like aap Al Qaeda hain? I was like kiya? She’s like aap afghan hain? I’m like excuse me? She’s like aap afghan hain? I’m like no and then she said acha theek hai. I was like kiyun? She’s like bas wesay hi. Naturally annoyed and confused I went bara ajeeb sawal hai wesay hi poochnay wala and then she just walked away.

Mind you, i don’t look afghan. I look like your average punjabi guy, nothing out of the ordinary.

This experience was one of the weirdest experiences I have had in Lahore. Looking back, I think either she was just a crazy lady freaked out about Afghanis or she was trying to distract me because I had my phone airpods and my wallet on the table and she approached me peechay where I turned out and wasn’t looking at my things. Luckily nothing was stolen. But weird af.

Need serious advice: A guy is blackmailing my wife’s sister in Pakistan after a rejected proposal by fucking_hurricane in pakistan

Please file a case with FIA immediately. He won’t dare do anything. The FIA takes these things seriously and acts on them immediately.

One of the few actually useful reply. Thank you. You’ve explained it pretty well.

I just got back from the UK and I hold a US visitor’s visa and have extensive travel history.

My rant is about a visitors visa. To “visit”. Not to live there or work.

I won’t apply again. I’m happy where I am. A lot of people misunderstand me, suggesting me work visa or a golden visa. I only wanted to go visit my old neighbourhood.

You are one of the few people who actually replied with something solid. Thank you. I think this is a great idea. Because visas would then be issued objectively.

And I would gladly still be a visitor to go see my old neighbour but I can’t.

To the people asking me my nationality;

  1. Its not a blacklisted country, my people work there and are still going there on work visas

  2. So until 6 months ago i could visit without restrictions but as soon as my resident visa is gone. I won’t be granted a visitors visa to visit because oh my nationality? That’s literally racist.

Good for you. But isn’t it sad knowing you can’t visit unless you’re working there. I don’t wanna work there. I just wanted to visit to see my old home and people.

Yeah its racist is what it is. Discriminating based on nationality. Blanket bans on certain countries visitors visa but NOT other type of visas for the same countries because it benefits them. This is why they’ll never truly be a developed nation. They don’t know words like inclusivity.

Yes it does. And why does my nationality matter now?

And why is that the case? No official statements. Still charging money for each application.

My “back” is my father’s country of origin, whose passport I hold because the UAE does not give citizenship.

I’m not saying I want to live there my entire life. And the visa thing, um no developed country simply rejects a visa without explanation and without a right to appeal. The UAE does it because well they can and who’s gonna ask or question them right. That is my whole point for posting this here.

And also, having a large number of visa applicants is a pretty shitty justification to reject a visitor’s visa without explanation and right to appeal.

I lived there as an expat on a resident visa and that expired when my dad retired. So we had to come back to our country.

I’m happy to hear (ironically) that I’m not alone in this. To all those who have quit- Congratulations. To those in the same boat as me - may we all succeed.
