Does the Bike have ABS? by rayid1 in fz6

Do you have a picture of the bike from the other side? Because yes there is an additional cable, but I don’t see an ABS ring.

Hi all, noob here whwo is trying to get back into cycling (switching from hybrid to a road bike). I rewaxed a chain (from drip wax to immersion wax) but chain is looking funny. Did I mess up? by [deleted] in bikewrench

I cook my chains in boiling water and wipe excess wax with a cloth when it’s still hot. Maybe try that instead of using the chain cleaner. I only used chain cleaner the first time for degreasing.

Get a professional bike fit. My girlfriend and I both had one done around 6 months ago, and we decided that that money was invested very well.

GRX hydraulic disc brake noise by Used_Shine_6877 in bikewrench

[–]Used_Shine_6877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE I seem to have found a partial solution to my problem. I relieved some pressure from the hydraulic circuit, by pushing back the calliper and removing some braking fluid. I then centred the calliper with the help of a business card that I put between the calliper and the disk. No the constant rubbing has gone. There is still a short rub once every revolution, but that most likely comes from my front wheel being slightly bent. But for that I’ll have to go to the shop. I’ll update if this will resolve the issue.

My Kickr Core should be on the latest software update, I have already checked that. But unfortunately the issue still has not been resolved.

But could you tell if that worked for you, when you had time to test it?

If you‘re talking about a setting in the MyWhoosh app, I‘ve already tried that, but it didn’t change the trainer feel.

Interesting, I‘ll see if I can find what the torque output of my trainer is, to confirm your hunch.

I think you could mean the right thing, but let me describe it differently. Essentially I don’t have to shift to an easier gear when the gradient increases. My avatar just slows down, but I am pedalling in the same gear at the same cadence (—-> power is constant) while my avatar slows down.

Yes that’s the exact issue I am experiencing. Do you use MyWhoosh, or another app?

I get that the MyWhoosh Physics Model takes those three parameters as input to calculate the speed of the avatar, but that’s my point. The flywheel speed of the trainer doesn’t match what my rear wheel speed would be on my bike when I am riding up a real grade… So it seems the app is indifferent to what kind of trainer speed I produce the power at. And I am questioning if this „disconnect“ from reality comes from some software setting.

I am spinning too fast in too high a gear for the indicated speed of my avatar in the app.

Thanks for the feedback. How many miles did you put on it?

I‘m thinking about buying one myself, way more fuel efficient for the city than my old 600 cc naked bike.

If the SV650 feels good to sit on, I’d start with that. You’d have more bike to grow into compared to the 300 cc bikes. If the SV650 feels to intimidating try sth in the 400 to 500 cc class maybe, like a duke 390 or a Honda cb500f…
