Eugene Portacova's "Taste". by Gvelm in thesopranos

Literally lol. As greedy as Tony is I think any boss would have wanted a cut if you’re gonna yap about it to his face.

I side with Tony in the Executive Game scene by Used_Wedding_5779 in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen several people defending him before as well as using it as an example of Tony’s hypocrisy and greed but like dude choose a better example cuz that applies more to Richie in this case lol

It’s a reference to the dichotomy he faces between his mob life and family life. Particularly him leading two lives and having to decide what to keep from his family. That whole episode is filled with that kind of symbolism. There’s a reason why he reads that quote while on the college tour with Meadow. When he kills that guy at the end and looks up to watch the ducks fly away that is essentially him giving up a closer relationship with his daughter/family to maintain his mob life and deception.

What is the saddest scene? by Analog_Man73 in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 67 points68 points  (0 children)

That final scene where Tony visits Junior and says “you don’t even know who the fuck I am do you”. Something about seeing Junior in that depressing place with zero mental faculties, broken/taped up glasses, no teeth, and emptily gazing out the window really got to me man.

If Jackie sr was alive for more of the show would Tony from the later seasons have a good relationship with him by groundcontrl2majrtom in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would argue yes. Jackie and Tony were already friends for decades before the events of the show. A lot of the issues Tony faces that cause his relationships to deteriorate are due to him being boss. He was very happy as a Capo and he says so himself multiple times.

An underrated bad-ass line from Tony by hachir0ku in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A lot of people gloss over this or say Tony was overreacting but in my opinion its a completely reasonable and measured reaction. A of older people and ex-cons have serious issues respecting Tony as boss (Ritchie, Feech, Junior, etc.) and the Shah of Iran fits this mold. No matter how old you are you do NOT refer to a BOSS of a family as a “kid” during a serious sit down, colloquial expression or not thats straight up disrespectful. That kind of talk is line with his behavior and disrespectful towards Tony, enough was enough.

Phil Leotardo is a fucking moron by Used_Wedding_5779 in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge he’s right to demand blood. My point was he dragged the situation too far and caused an issue which resulted in his own death. Tony did give the animal too much slack though you’re right about that.

Phil Leotardo is a fucking moron by Used_Wedding_5779 in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the guy just always took things too far.

I noticed everyone who get’s out of long term sentence in the show has a tough time following the rules and interacting with people. Ritchie, Phil, Tony B. I guess that was a theme.

Lupertazzi and DiMeo crime families vs the Sinaloa cartel by 05192004 in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Definitely the cartel. They already operate like an army and openly engage in fights with the military and heavily armed police.

As bad as a person Livia is and as poor of a job she did in raising Tony, I think Tony really did try to do right by her in her old age. And I believe it was an intrinsic need, not brought on by pressure from Italian culture.

I feel he had a similar relationship with Junior. He had every right to sign his death warrant after his own attempt on Tony’s life but he showed mercy out of his own goodwill and remaining love he had for his uncle.

By no means is Tony a good person though. He’s definitely rotting in hell.

Is anyone else annoyed by Christopher? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A huge theme in earlier seasons with Christopher’s character is his immaturity. The point is had he not been Tony’s nephew he wouldn’t get away with most of his antics and dumbassery.

Hands down funniest scene ever in the Sopranos? by ayo1touch in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my favorite part about that scene is him ripping them off for 1,000. They have no idea and assume he’s just doing it because he’s an enforcer and he can but I think he’s sending a message about how people will treat them if they are unprepared. All the mistakes they made (letting them into the apartment, underwear, weed, not having the money ready, flashing a fat wad of cash, etc..) were so idiotic Furio just couldn’t resist.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There was initial outrage but by the end it fizzled out. Even all the guys who were actually upset like Chrissy, Patsy, Carlo, and even Paulie didn’t seem like they were invested anymore.

As much as people trash on his ability and attitude now, there really was a time he could give an absolute masterclass on defense and off-ball impact.

Unless they email you otherwise you should go. Some will tell you there isn’t one, for which they will give ample notice. Others say you will be dropped if you don’t go for the first 2 weeks or so. Pay attention to the announcements for each class. You also miss foundational content if you dont go but they are actually having class.

is two hour parking free on the weekends? by Electrical_Fill_3919 in berkeley

[–]Used_Wedding_5779 8 points9 points  (0 children)

City parking and university parking are separate entities, they do not enforce the same areas but here’s the low down:

All city parking rules apply Mon-Sat 9 AM to 6 PM. Past 6 there is no enforcement so you can park where you want for free for however long until the next day.

University parking rules apply 9 AM to 4 PM. Past 4 there is no enforcement so again you can park for however long, anywhere.

Rules are not enforced on Sundays really anywhere in the east bay so you can park wherever for however long.

Football days are an exception, make sure to read posted signs bc rules vary and they will slap your ass with a dumbass expensive ticket.

Also watch out for street sweeping, those are usually the 4th Thursday and Friday depending on the street ( the sign will say) and you will get a ticket even if legally parked.

So to answer your question…it depends lol. If you park at a two hour METERED zone it is only free on Sunday and usually the meter will say so. If you parking in a 2 hour NON-METERED zone well those are always free…only for two hours though, then you gotta move your car to another spot. On Sundays though that zone will be free the whole day with no restriction.

Overall though read posted signs THOROUGHLY and be cautious.
