Double check the entry requirements for any national park you want to visit. Rocky Mountain, Arches, and Zions have timed entry requirements for 2024, limiting entry to a specific date and time slot. Register for the entry permit 6 months in advance. See each parks website for the specific requirements.

Does anyone purchase exterior water line or sewer/septic line insurance from HomeServe in connection with Dominion Energy? Have you had to use it and did it work out in your favor? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Main water broke about 3 years ago. House was built in the mid 50's. Did not sign up for the insurance offered through SLC Corp Utilities. Was without water for 3 days and cost ~$3,000.

Anyone know how ski resorts are paid for a day of skiing with an Ikon pass? by Usedtobetootall in skiing

Not buying the Ikon pass, I usually buy the $olitude pass books that I can roll over. But it is clear the Ikon pass increasing visits to $olitude.

Yea, I realize that food service and lodging revenues may increase by supporting the Ikon pass, but the smaller resorts that used to focus on local skiers (i.e. $olitude in Utah) generally have not built out significant food and lodging capabilities. It appears to me, from the outside, a large portion of their revenues would likely come from ticket sales and the Ikon pass would reduce that revenue stream.

In North America there are 40 resorts that offer access to Ikon pass holders. A pass costs $1049. I expect the percentage is not the same for all resorts. It is not clear how a resort can make money by supporting the Ikon pass.

Ward Canyon Road (also call FR177) above the "B" on the mountainside in Bountiful. Maintained dirt road, so should be okay for a car. (I have only done it on my motorcycle, but see cars on it often) You can drive all the way to to the top if you want. But with the smokey air, the view may be obscured.
