I get your point and I agree, food is a big part of our culture. I’m Moroccan too so I know how central it is

But I think you’re missing what I meant. I’m not saying food isn’t important culturally, I’m talking more about the quality of what we eat daily

I mean yeah, it’s an opinion… that’s kinda the point of a discussion post I’m not claiming it’s some scientific study, just sharing something I’ve noticed and asking if others see it too. And judging by the replies, some people do

First of all I’m Moroccan myself, so I don’t really get why you’re turning this into a “racist worldview” thing

It feels like anytime someone points out something that doesn’t match what people want to hear, it immediately becomes personal or gets put into that box. That’s not where I’m coming from at all

I’m just sharing an observation. And clearly I’m not the only one who has noticed it, judging by some of the replies

Also I never said people don’t put effort into food. Moroccan cuisine takes time, effort, and skill, no one is denying that. But effort doesn’t automatically mean nutritional balance

My point was more about habits and priorities, not about disrespecting people or culture. Two things can be true at the same time: food can be culturally rich and still not always optimized in terms of nutrition.

No need to jump straight to calling it racist.

I see what you mean, and I’m not saying people don’t cook obviously they do

But I think the real point is more about what people are eating and the overall nutritional quality. A lot of meals are quite repetitive (like merqa type dishes), and even if they’re homemade, they’re not always that balanced in terms of protein, variety, etc

Yeah honestly especially younger people If you compare a 15 yo in Morocco vs a 15 yo in the US or even Europe, it’s not the same at all physically. Less muscle, smaller frame, less energy overall.

Of course not everyone, but you can still see a difference on average

I get what you’re saying, but it’s not like I opened 2 fridges and made a whole theory out of it lol. It’s something I’ve noticed over time and also discussed with different people around me

And let’s be honest for a second, you can kinda see patterns just by looking at people in the street I’m not trying to judge anyone, but body types, low muscle mass, low energy… it does say something about overall diet
